Nice big kitchen and kind people working there, but very cold and much noise in the evening. There wasn't any hot water for showing. The location is great and the staff was very helpful with tours and what to see in the city. The heater in the room didn't work. Lovely city.

Hi, thank you for your review and for kind words towards our staff, they are definitely really good at what they do. When it comes to heating and hot water we try to provide our guest with those forms of comfort 100% and I'm not really sure how did this happen as there were no complains at the reception desk... Positive: The staff was very friendly and helpful. localization is also good. Negative: We where in 4 people, our room was very dirty with items from previous guests, most of the bathroom on our floor was broken and out of use. Beds make annoying noise when you move. Not a very good experience.

The rooms and bathrooms themselves are basic, definitely nothing flash. The place probably needs a revamp to make it look a bit nicer and cleaner. The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is the location and the staff. Great location 2 mins from bus station, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Not bad for a short stay, which... More

Look, it's cheap I get it. But don't. The mold on the walls is scary, and you are breathing that in. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was just glad to get out. The beds are pretty uncomfortable, my mattress had a huge burn hole in it, but they do give you linens, which is nice. Also, the... More

Hi Briana, Thank you for your review and I'm sorry that you feel this way after staying with us. The mould is a common problem in most of the Inverness buildings as the towns location is constantly humid so we are trying to treat it with some organic cleaning solutions for our guests not to breath in all the chemicals... Not entirely a huge fan of this hostel. Of all the hostels I've stayed in, this is the least comfortable one - sleep wise. The beds were not comfy at all, and I can usually sleep anywhere so long as I'm lying down. And the squeaked even if you tried to move your head. The bathrooms had peeling paint and... More

Hello, Thank you for your review. We are aware of the fact that our hostel is an old building. We are doing all we can to make the old building: fresh, inviting, new. We clean the hostel everyday, and we take steps to improve upon the bigger things that need to be done. I'm positive if you come back in... More

We stayed there for 3 nights because we were on a study tour (approx 20 people all together). Compared to other hostels that I've stayed at around Europe, this was by far my least favourite one, however, if you're looking for a super cheap budget stay it might be alright. Some positive things - the staff is very friendly and... More

Hi there! Thank you for your review. We take all of them very seriously. We take your cutlery comment in consideration (we do have a lot more than 5 of each but we could still get more). Other reviewers are harsh on Inverness Tourist Hostel. I guess everyone has an opinion and here's mine. We arrived by car, called the hostel to check on the best place to park - which was in the carpark across the street which is free after 7pm. The staff member that answered my call was helpful and again when we arrived... More

The older one gets the more that clichés seem to apply. You get what you pay for. Buy an economy plane ticket don't expect 1st class. Bed for a night, sheets supplied, wifi working. hot shower happy staff In the Centre of a city and for the price of a burger. Thanks for the nights stay. PS. Some reviewers should... More

We had chosen the place as it was close to the city centre and after the final days walk on the great glen way we did not want to walk more to reach the hotel. No lockers, terrible wifi (in the common room when the hostel was practically empty), and only one shower per floor. The foreign staff at the front desk were useless as far as knowledge of Inverness. Travelers shouldn't have to pay for a coffee in town just to book a ticket on a decent internet connection.
