The Acorn Guest House was one of our favorites overall among several B&Bs that we visited in Scotland. Dugie and Fiona were wonderful hosts; Dugie is great although a little full of himself and Fiona is not as vocal although it appears that she really runs the place and him in the long run :) . Our room was fairly... More

We were here for three nights on a girls road trip through the U.K. Dugie, our host and proprietor of the establishment was extremely welcoming and helpful with any of our needs or concerns. He was very knowledgeable of where to go in town, including restaurants and nightlife. Breakfast was always delicious and comforting. (I make his oatmeal recipe for... More

We were two 55y+ couples on a round trip through Scotland. Upon Arrival, the accommodation was shown to us by Fiona: the rooms are decorated with greatest attention to any detail. The 2+1 offer larger bed sizes than any other B&B we stayed in Scotland. A nice club-type living room with Sofas, tables, library and a TV set is made... More

We stayed here on our first and last night of our round Loch Ness Walk. We stayed in room 4 which had a double bed and a single bed which were very comfortable and suitable to our needs. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us here at Acorn House We are a little bemused about leaving a car on the street as parking would have cost more than the £1.42 per day that we charge, I have never gone away anywhere and not been charged for parking and indeed I prefer to, as I know... Acorn House the best breakfast along the Great Glen Way, thank you for the hospitality, a good over night stay with great humour at breakfast and a great overnight stay, see you again soon. A short walk up the road to MacNabs put is a great place to relax.

We are 2 couples who stayed at Acorn B&B last fall. The good: great location, close to all activities but quiet area, lovely house, yes a bit cluttered like some reviewers have mentioned but some would say it adds to the charm, fantastic woolen carpet in public rooms, lovely breakfast, charming host, good information on nearby restaurants. The bad: I... More

We are sorry to hear that this lady was disappointed however she booked through a website that was in the process of being recognised by Acorn House and they numbered the rooms 1 to 6 whereas all the rooms in Acorn Are numbered 2,3,4,6,7,8 so indeed there were no untruths told if anyone should be blamed it was the website... Our stay here had a bumpy start when there was an error with our booking, but the host and hostess bent over backward to fix things and more than satisfied us. This was a very nice place to stay. The room was warm & comfortable without being overheated & practically everything you'd need was provided......bathrobes, slippers, disposable razors & toothbrushes, tissues, cottonwool balls....it was all there for you to use should you wish to do so.
