The castle is not huge, but its cosy and the room we stayed in was large and pleasant. We had a jacuzzi which we had specially requested, and its great we got it. The shower however was a disaster, just could not get the mix of water right! The TV had exactly 5 channels and was on a low table... more

We arrived at the Manfield Castle Hotel and were instantly happy with our choice of hotel. Straight away, there was a warm welcome from all the Staff which made us feel very welcomed. We were then shown around the hotel then to our delightful hotel room. We were very happy with our stay. All meals were lovely and the staff... more

We stopped by chance, and at reception they gave us a great price for a one night stay, as the hotel was nearly empty. Comfortable roomy room, great heating, queen bed, free wifi. It always puzzles us why in most hotels, there is only three channels to look at. At home in NZ there is always 10 or more to... more

We arrived late to the castle and were shown to a large spacious room. When we asked to have the heat turned on, it was too much of a bother and were given a space heater instead. The shower had paint peeling from the ceiling. The linens and upholstery were worn and dusty. When our family tried calling us from... more

This is a bit unfair. Checked in at Midnight, most Hotels would not have let them in. Checked out next morning, looking for a phone from the states at 1am. A very strong opinion for 8 hours spent in the Hotel.

The rooms are very pleasant. The staff first class. The food is good. The downside is the poorly stocked bar - there are no Scottish beers on draught neither is there any Scottish bottled beer in spite of the excellent Black Isle brewery being around 30 miles away. It was also disappointing that they ran out of the local whisky... more

We enjoyed our stay, There had just been a change in management, but the staff seemed to be coping very well with the inevitable changes in routine. more

Pleasant accommodation in a traditional style, but its real strength is its people. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They cooked us breakfast out of hours when we arrived. Every staff member was exceptionally helpful and friendly and throughout our stay we felt completely at ease. The team manages to create an informal and unpretentious atmosphere. more

I found this hotel via a search engine, and telephoned to make an enquiry. I spoke to Alan, the manager who was very friendly and came across a genuine bloke. I booked it and explained we wouldn't be arriving till the evening, this was no problem. On the evening of arrival, we were greeted at reception by Lisa, she showed... more

Mansfield Castle was quite a treat. We stayed in the Tower Room which was great since we had exclusive access to the tower room. It is extremely spacious for a big family. The staff at Mansfield Castle was beyond excellent. They were extremely friendly and helpful at answering any questions you might have on the area. We did not have... more
