When I booked it in April 2014. it did had mixed reviews. I took my chances. I think it is fair to say I have every right to expect what I saw in its professional photos. I saw huge open space and the inn looks like an elegant huge old house nestled in the middle of it. Ok...we all know... More

Stayed here with family to celebrate a Golden wedding last weekend. The rooms are very comfortable with tea/coffee facilities, en suite shower room and television. We had high tea on the Saturday evening which was outstanding and a three course lunch the following day for the celebrations. Food portions were large and the standard of cuisine was excellent. The staff... More

The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. We had two rooms one with a bath and one with a shower. Everything worked as it should (internet, tea and coffee making facilities and TV). The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them and they all made us feel very welcome.

I have to say, I have stayed in many hotels in Scotland and The Bog Roy Inn as its known now was defiantly in the top 10. The food was really heart warming, The fire in the restaurant was a lovely touch and really set the mood. All the staff were really pleasant and made me feel very welcome. The... More

Came to the bog roy with family as were staying nearby. After looking at trip advisor fist I was a bit dubious but thought I'd try it myself and we weren't disappointed. The waitress that met us was very friendly and couldn't be any more helpful age provided great service. The menu choice was good and the food was delicious... More

we were young and broke and would all pool our money and hope for the best. The Old North Inn is what we got - and its was not pretty. Or functional. Beds were in poor condition, showers did not work - broken fixtures and water issues. Rooms in the back are over the pub and kitchen with an air... More

This is our second visit to the Bog Roy Inn, and we weren't disappointed. Lovely table in the window, with a nice high chair for my 16 month old. Quick service. Very good menu and excellent children's menu. Large portions and lovely presentation. Very reasonable price. We will definitely be going back when in area. Could do with a lick... More

While travelling in the area with my wife and two friends we came upon this 'Inn' one afternoon in time for our afternoon break. From the outside it did not look all that inviting but we decided to give it a go. We had our coffees but no cakes or scones available so we split sweets from the dinner menu... More

My wife and I decided to take a trip around our new country and visit the Highlands. Not wanting to spend a fortune on hotels we decided on staying in local inns. I'm not going to compare it to a four star hotel, but the old north inn is what it is. A small inn, in a small village outside... More

Myself and my husband called in here for dinner on Saturday night. We were welcomed warmly and shown a table. The menu is varied. As I am supposed to be dieting I requested the Sirloin steak with a salad. My husband had the chicken with haggis and a cream whisky sauce. When the meals came the steak had an odd... More
