Very pleasant, friendly hosts who know the area well. Their recommendations for eating out/ having a quiet drink/visitor attractions were spot on for our requirements. The guest house was in excellent decorative order and in a quiet street within easy walkig distance of the city centre . Had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful Victorian house with charming rooms. Val and John Forbes, the proprietors, provided first class service. They are a delightful couple who really make you feel welcome. The place is immaculate with lovely furnishings. The food was outstanding. The location can't be beat. We stayed here on our trip from Stirling to the Orkneys. It was very nice and John and Val went to great lengths to make sure the guestrooms were comfortable. We had a "minor" family emergency in the states while we were here and had difficulty calling home. John just handed me his phone and told me to call directly.... more
