We were delighted to arrive at Craigiewood after driving through from Doune that day. Enjoyed the leafy roads that lead up to the house. Charming hosts, beautiful peaceful, bird filled garden setting on six acres surrounded by farmland. Dinner down at the pub by the sea was excellent. It was a perfect base for our trips to Elgin, Inverness etc.... More

In spite of telephoning Araminta for a room at very short notice both she and Gavin were extremely warm and welcoming. Having the use of the very attractive sitting room and the beauty of the surrounding countryside would alone persuade us to return. Serena & Henry

Minty and Gavin welcomed us and our JR Tizzy and to be served tea and cake in a sunny peaceful sitting room. Craigiewood is set in pretty gardens in the countryside north of Inverness and lives up to its photos. Minty had booked us a table for dinner at the North Kessock Hotel, which took the stress out of finding... More

We spent two pleasant nights at Craigiewood in June 2013. To our embarrassment, we had somehow booked the wrong month, and were very late, but in spite of this, we were welcomed warmly by Araminta and Gavin. Gavin even came by car to rescue us when we became hopelessly lost in the dark due to our poor navigation skills! After... More

I stayed for just one night to collect my husband from the Caledonian Sleeper train before heading back up north. As I had the dog with me I needed somewhere I could give him a good off lead walk so the hotel right by the station was out of the question. Craigiewood was perfect as it is only about ten... More

We stayed only two nights at Craigiewood but it was wonderful, and we can't wait to return. We especially enjoyed the wonderful surroundings of the immediate area as well as the lovely garden, the cosy living room with the fire and the peace and quietness of it all. I can't think why I haven't written about Craigiewood before, having stayed here a few times. The warm welcome never abates; Gavin and Minty's retreat may be secluded in the woods, yet it is so accessible to Inverness and the Highlands; it is the perfect base and launch-point. Their wise counsel on what to see, and how best to use... More
