When arriving to the hotel which if about 6/7 miles from Inverness airport there's a big carpark entered via entrance with decking and the bar area was smart, clean and tidy yet empty, the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel has the facility to add food and drink to you're room which I found useful . The room was a... More

We stayed at the Smithton Hotel at the start and end of our Scottish holiday. We asked for a quiet room and we were allocated room 16 on the 2nd floor which proved to be peaceful. The room was clean and bright. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. There was a mini cooler fridge which we used to... More

A pub with rooms rather than "hotel". Food only average and all "pre processed. Wife ordered "cranachan" as desert which was hideous to look at and was inedible. Creaky, lumpy bed springs only added to the poor nights's sleep. I would only advise this place as a business stopover... and eat elsewhere!

This was my first trip to Scotland and after an unexpected stay in hospital, I found myself without a hotel as everywhere was fully booked. Luckily I was in safe hands with local taxi driver and new found friend David Fraiser who came to my rescue! I entered The Smithton on the off chance and within minutes I had a... More

Room was comfortable and well appointed. Clean and neat - nice view out over Inverness in distance. Breakfasts a little under-whelming - who serves grapefruit segments as a main course? - but this is a reasonable place to stay for a night or two if you're on a road trip. Not really a place in which to relax, as, apart... More

We stayed for 1-night while travelling in the area with the intention to visit Cullodon battlefield which is close by the next day. We pre-booked the family orientated adjoining double and twin single rooms that really do offer good value for money with a combined both rooms included price. The rooms were modern, clean, tidy and adequately equipped although the... More

We planned to stay a night in the Inverness but found that prices were rather high. Moving out a bit we found the Smithton Hotel and decided to give it a try. The first impression was a surprise, rang the bell at reception and the barman came out. We said we had a booking and gave our name, to be... More

Our room was as far away as you could possibly get from the parking lot. We had lots of bags to pack up multiple staircases and through multiple doors. The rooms and linens were clean - pretty plain jane but functional. The pub downstairs could be a bit noisy. My adult daughter was awake until the pub shut down. Staff... More

Hotel was okay, needs a bit of tlc. The rooms were not cleaned everyday of my stay, towels not replenished etc. Attention to detail needs to be improved, but the service from the lovely tall gent behind the bar was impeccable-couldn't fault him. Alright stay over all.

We got a car at Edimbourg and drove right to Inverness to know a bit of the place, lock ness, etc. We stayed at the Smithton Hotel during 3 or 4 nights, and the service was very good. The drawback is that you gotta go upstairs, no elevator, and with a baby that not very practical sometimes, but it worth... More
