On our way from the Scottish borders where we rent three times a year a perfect cottage to the Orkney Isles we decided to spend a night in Inverness. Accidentally we arrived at Best Western, very well located, at the River, nearby the Castle and downtown. People at reception very friendly and efficient. The hotel was packed. We were at... More

Really lovely room. (Though light didn't work but we reported it). Clean and roomy. Excuse the pun. Perfect location. Only a few minutes walk into town and along the most picturesque part of the river Ness. Delicious breakfast. Helpful night porter. Reasonably priced drinks given it was a hotel. Lovely spa facilities which we enjoyed immensely. I would definitely return... More

We stayed for one night in a double bedroom on the fourth floor at the back of the hotel. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and gave a great first impression of the hotel which is always appreciated. Sadly the Palace suffers from the limitations of many city centre hotels and once you've driven around the one-way system a few... More

Having had a dicey visit to Aviemore, we were not expecting much. What a fantastic suprise! Nice hotel right on the river. Lovely old school Scottish hotel with some nice touch ups. Bar with a Starbucks (and am typically not a fan) so we could get an espresso first thing and a drink last thing. Walking distance to a dozen... More

Any High Tea that I've had has always been a selection of dainty sandwiches, hot finger food, petit fours and other assorted small cakes, usually served in elegant surroundings. It was with this in mind that my wife and I booked in for a High Tea. How wrong were we. High Team consisted of a full main course meal (which... More

We had a short break in early August. We had upgraded to a river view, superior, room, and it was well worth it. A sublime view from our windows of the river and the castle. The Inverness Palace Hotel is located in the best location in Inverness, overlooking River Ness and with a view to the Castle. Our room was large and very nice and we enjoyed the great view from. On the other hand, the lobby and restaurant area, breakfast and service definitely have room for improvement, especially for a hotel that commands prices... More
