This really is a superb Guest House to stay in. The house is full of character, the rooms very clean and comfortable and the breakfast A1. As for the Hosts Fred, Penelope and their children, well they are absolutely great and make you feel more part of the family than just being a guest. The location is great too as... more

Fred and Penelope were lovely hosts, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean, and we had everything we needed. Atholdene is only a quick walk into the town center, and Fred provided helpful directions and advice (from good eateries to fun things to do and places to see). Staying at Atholdene was a... more

I was a few days into a busy business trip travelling around the highlands and heading for Inverness. After staying at a couple of adequate but soulless hotel 'chains' (which are supposedly ideal for the busy business traveller) I wanted to sample some proper Scottish hospitality. If you want to do the same, I thoroughally recommend Atholdene House in Inverness.... more

This was our very first B&B stay while we were in the UK and it was absolutely delightful. We'd been staying with friends in a crowded house until we arrived in Inverness and this B&B was like a breath of fresh air. Fred welcomed us warmly as we arrived, gave us maps and suggested walks and places to eat that... more

Clean, fine breakfast, great for our one night stay. Hosts were very helpful upon arrival, and with a recommendation for our journey north at departure. Wifi included. Highly recommended. Other reviews in Trip Advisor were spot on! more

We were in Inverness for a wedding and so the family all stayed at the Atholdene B&B. We were put up in the seperate house round the back of the main B&B which is a small modern house with 4 bedrooms and we had it all to ourselves which was great. The decor was very dated and it wasn't somewhere... more

We found Atholdene on a website invernessbedandbreakfasts.co.uk and were delighted to stay there. A lovely house with great comfort and excellent food. Inverness is fantastic also, there is lots of things to do and lots of trips. We would go to Inverness adn stay with Atholdene again. It was not far from the town, maybe 5 minutes walk. The owners... more

My family of 5 were fortunate enough to spend time with Fred & Penelope for a few days in July. It was EASILY the best B&B experience I've ever had (and I've been to some nice ones over the years). We had huge breakfasts (you pick what time you'd like breakfast as well as what you want the night before... more

We stayed a week and used Atholdene House as a touring centre for Inverness and the East coast. It is also an easy walk into town and a number of good eateries. This is a near-perfect B&B. Clean, friendly, comfortable, hospitable. The breakfast is excellent - plenty of choices, including smoked salmon, and the "full Scottish" should keep you satisfied... more
