My husband and I stayed here for 1 night during our 10 day trip to Scotland. It was a beautiful property - very old - but well maintained. The staff wer amazing - we felt very taken care of and welcome. Some fun stories about the property were shared over cocktails in the drawing room. They had a wonderful scotch... More

beautiful grounds ...and nice public spaces. This is like staying in someones home... albeit a country mansion. We had two rooms, the single was quite small, the twin room had a lovely view of the grounds and the woods. On site restaurant was excellent, tasting menu is recommended . Staff was extremely helpful ; parking our car after a long... More

We had a wonderful experience at this very friendly, well-located historic hotel. Short drive to such attractions as Culloden Battlefield, Cowder Castle, Inverness, Loch Ness, Urquart Castle and Glenmorangie Distillery. Excellent service and food.

Charmingly neglected building awash in history on beautiful grounds, with great service and a terrific bar. Food, however, is terrible. One of my dinner companions ordered a pork dish, which arrived cold and virtually uncooked. My room was on the second floor, and had seven foot ceilings and a run-down bathroom with cheap fixtures. And all of this comes at... More

Dear JimfromNola, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I am happy to read that you enjoyed the whisky bar and that the service was as one would expect at Culloden House. I have this morning discussed your dining experience with both the Executive Chef and the Deputy General Manager neither of whom knew of any complaint... More

Dear Laura F, Thank you for your lovely review! Weddings at Culloden are magical as you have exclusive use of the house making it feel more like your own private manor than a hotel. I am delighted that you and your family had a wonderful time, we are blessed with a fantastic team who have many years service and are... More

Because the hotel is close to many great golf courses, it has become a haven for golfers, good and bad. We were there for 3 nights and experienced the gamut: men with golf caps eating dinner in an elegant dining room; babies in high tops also having dinner, and some other very nice and outraged guests. I approached management after... More

Dear jmmavro, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I do apologise that your stay was marred by the dress code issue, I can advise that we have taken steps to ensure that every guest is advised prior too and during their stay that the dining room dress code is smart casual which means no denim jeans,... Even if it is a little out of the way, this hotel is worth it -- with exceptional historical associations, attentive staff and a superb breakfast. It is quaint, but also luxurious. If in Inverness -- stay here!

Stayed here three nights as we made our way around Scotland playing golf and sightseeing. It is a good base for the Inverness area - easy enough to access without city traffic. The hotel is charming and historical, with the Culloden battlefield nearby. Staff was helpful and friendly. Comfortable room, but in need of an update. Meals were good but... More

Dear Jennifer H, Thank you for your kind review. I have passed your comments onto the kitchen brigade to see if they can offer any insight into your comments, we are lucky to have a great team and it is unusual for our kitchen team not too deliver an outstanding meal. Kindest regards, Stephen Davies General Manager More
