The hotel was stately and beautiful and our room came with a lovely fruit basket, bottle of whiskey and some fudge. It was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We decided to eat dinner at the hotel restaurant which was a mistake. Because the hotel caters to older clientele, we were completely ignored by wait staff and had... more

Spent a pre-Christmas weekend in Inverness with the wife. We piled out of the train, straight into the old Station Hotel. It's everything an old-fashioned Highland hotel ought to be: acres of tartan carpet, wood panelling, grand staircase and a stuffed stag's head sporting an incongruous Rudolph hat on its antlers. Not the slickest operation, but it works and the... more

Just returned from a very disapointing 2 night stay at the Royal Highland. Checked in at 4.30 to be told by the receptionist the Ash restaurant was very busy and the only booking available was for 5.30 having 2 young children we said we would be delighted to dine at 5.30. Headed to room 219, which was fine, clean although... more

Thank you for your kind response. While we have taken note of the shortcomings you had pointed out in the food service areas and would like to assure you that this is more of an exception to our normal high standards and as pointed by you, we have enhanced our supervisory staff on these very busy times. We would also...

Well i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location is brilliant. We were on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal for £44.00 and i have got to say that for the money it was brilliant. What we loved: Location, room was nice and clean, we were able to go shopping and leave our bags in hotel porters room... more

I had booked a festive party of 12 for december. On telephoning today I find that my booking was "lost" "could not be found" Even though I had telephoned on two previous occasions and they did have my party details. The duty manager could not have cared less as the venue was full.....and treated me in an appalling manner, basic... more

I shopped around until I found the best deal on the internet then phoned the hotel directly. They matched the cost. Phoning directly also meant I could ask for a nice room, double bed etc.. Our room was 104, it was a bit noisy as it was street side but it wasn't bad enough to merit earplugs. Ok bed, nice... more

We stayed here 4 nights in late September 2008. Got a good rate on the net for a suite. The bathroom was huge with a double sink and the room fairly large by hotel standards. This hotel is a grand old Victorian hotel with a staircase in the foyer that looks straight out of Titanic - in fact some say... more

We were very surprised by the incredibly cheap rates on offer at the hotel when contacted. This was the main attraction of the hotel, but do not be enticed by price. Upon check in, the reception staff told me that the room would not be available until 3 pm, even though I had been told that the family room was... more
