My husband and I stayed here for a weekend break and chose the location for convenience as it is very central to the main city shopping area. Generally our experience was a positive one though we found it very noisy on Saturday and Sunday night. We complained to reception and they did apologise but this would put us off going... more

We have just returned from a 3 night break in the Royal Highland Hotel. I honestly cant understand some of the previous reviews we read before booking. The hotel is lovely, yes it is an old building but so what, it adds to the charm. The breakfast is a lovely buffet with all the cereals, pastries, cooked food fruit and... more

this hotel looks very grand from the outside and in the lobby, the staff are friendly, and helpfull. but breakfast is a help yourself affair which really did detract from the rest of the experience. overall this is an OK hotel but as i found out after there are better for cheaper not too far away my only other issue... more

This hotel is well situated, right in the town centre. The reception was not great and the room fairly poor for this kind of hotel. Not very clean, old and a bit dirty. Average breakfast also. Not great experience more

This hotel has to go on your list of places to stay when in Scotland!!...A very beautiful staircase greets you as you enter the door....The staff takes great care of your every wish..You can have a casual cup of tea while sitting in the beautiful lobby in comfy arm chairs, or enjoy a meal, in their restaurant--breakfast is spectacular in... more

Noisy, overpriced, uncomfortable bed, restaurant/room service ok but breakfast very poor for a 3 star hotel. Very limited parking which appears to be pemanently occupied by staff cars. Location is good as it is very central but take ear plugs as road/rail noise is likely to keep you awake. Reception not great. more

It is very surprising to note this, but if any body felt disturbed in any of the rooms, we would have been glad to change the room, had the matter been brought to the notice. The average rate during the March was around £75, which , we are sure would sound very reasonable indeed. As our beds and bath has always...

I booked this hotel through the Thomas Cook website, back in November 2007, for a post valentine break. This was for four couples. Check in Arrived at the hotel about 12.30pm but were told that we could not check in until 3pm. No problem, there is a shopping centre next door so we had a look around there and had... more

My husband and I along with a friend stayed at this hotel from 30th dec 2007/2nd jan 2008. We all thought that the service at breakfast was pretty poor i.e instead of having your own pot of tea your table you had to wait to be served with it, sometimes this meant you were half way through your breakfast before... more

We take all comments raised seriously and use this information in order to offer our normal high standards. It appears that of the 150 plus guests attending our 3 day Hogmanay package, that despite the majority of feedback being positive, that there may have been a couple of guests who may have had reason to raise criticism mainly on the...
