It was a really good experience. The building and rooms are very cozy and comfortable. We were very welcome by Kenny, who was very nice with us. The hotel is near the city center, like 10 minutes walking max and on the way you have plenty of restaurants and pubs. You also have supermarkets quite close in case you need... More

I really love Kenny and Melrose Villa, it's authentically Scottish, it's quaint, twee, there's a stags head on the wall in the breakfast room and if Laura Ashley was an older scottish lady this is the B&B she would have created. Yes it's true you can only check in between 4.30 and 8.30 but hey, that's not so bad, yes... More

Unwillingly received before check in time to only drop off back packs. Room too small, impossible to move around the bed. Springs of matras almost cut through sheets. Wifi only outside rooms, not fun when you wake up from jet lag and want to do email in the middle of the night. Shower small, but clean. Toiletflushing is hard work... More

Check-in at 4:30, with a printed reprimand at the door in case you thought otherwise. WiFi in room didn't work. Room was small for a prison cell. Breakfast unimaginative. You would do better at a hostel.

My only concern with this place was that the bed was not really all that comfortable. I woke up several times. Other than that, no issues. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were clean, we were very close to the downtown area. Parking is off street, and the signs indicate that permits are required from 8 am to 5 or 6 pm,... More

I overnighted in Inverness after dental work and was feeling fragile when I arrived. The owner welcomed me, warmed up some soup and brought it upstairs, offering any further help I needed. Room was great value compared to others in the area, super-clean, and an additional small heater was provided, which one really appreciates in a place with central heating.... More

I stayed at the Melrose Villa for 3 nights on a business trip and I couldn't fault it for the money I paid. This was excellent value for money, the cheapest B&B I could find, in a great central location 5mins walk from the High Street and you get a lot for your money. Despite my room being small it... I lived at Melrose Villa for two weeks while waiting for accommodation after starting a new job in Inverness and I am very happy with my stay. My room was very fresh and clean and was fitted with everything I required whilst living there. I found the owner, Kenny, to be very attentive, friendly and accommodating, providing genuine highland hospitality.... More

It was interesting reading previous reviews and I can but guess that cultural issues come to the floor. Expecting a guest house or bed and breakfast, or even come to that a hotel to allow guests access pre-noon is almost unheard of in the UK - there is one hotel chain, with a bright purple logo, who do permit this... House and rooms were dirty, lock on the bedroom door was broken, dog hairs all over the carpets. Owner was unhelpful and rude. On a busy noisy road, difficult to get any sleep. A disgrace to Scotland!
