Went for supper to the chieftain which is 60 miles from our home. When we got there the staff were far from welcoming, they made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The food itself was ok but one of our party was taking longer to finish than the rest of us. A lady which I was told was the... More

We stayed here as a group of 8 recently and it was perfectly acceptable for us. Staff were excellent and very friendly / accommodating. The hotel is actually incorporated above a busy Pub but that did not impact upon noise levels particularly. We ate here both nights and the food was excellent. We were made very welcome by staff and... More

Wifi connection often non existent. Rooms clean but decor tired and basic. No room phones, no hair dryers, tiny TV. Awful industrial views from hotel. If you need wifi don't stay here. Location is not picturesque but only 5 minutes to city centre. Staff were friendly.

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for one night. It is a 10 min walk from main Inverness City hub and a few minutes walk from supermarket and shopping centre. We were in an attic room which was a bit of a hassle getting our two large suitcases up but we managed. We were able to access the free... More

We stayed at The Chieftain for one night and found that it was better than average. The hotel was easy to find and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were reasonably sized and the beds very comfortable. As it was a Saturday night there was a fair bit of noise outside but we were able to... More

A very good location, easy to find, pretty close to downtown. Reception was efficient and friendly and the room very comfortable. Price including breakfast was very reasonable. We ate in the bar/dining room and enjoyed the food. The place was quite busy with locals which is a pretty good sign. Recommend this place if you are in Inverness.

Be very wary of booking an important event here. I recently booked a funeral tea at The Chieftain on behalf of my late mother - who, to make matters worse, had specifically requested the hotel. The booking was confirmed by two phone calls. Imagine how upsetting it was for the family and about twenty five other mourners to arrive at... More

Easy to find, comfortable beds, clean and tidy inside, close-ish to central city - not too far away. Lovely greeting upon arrival, has a restaurant close/next to it. A nice night was stayed in this hotel, particulary after a long day travelling.

Stayed here last night with two other friends in a triple room which worked out at £35 each which I found was a great price. All staff were very friendly and helpful including a young girl who I thought was very nice. Room was well equipped and very comfortable. Only downside was that the walls had a layer dust along... My family and I stayed here after reading reviews on how pet friendly this establishment was and is. We take great pleasure in adding to the positive reviews as it was also perfectly situated for the city centre and acted as a great base whilst we enjoyed visits to the Great Glen and out to the Isle of Skye Inverness...
