Stayed overnight on way north. The staff were very good, checked if a road problem had cleared for our onward journey, made us feel welcome and even arranged a slightly earlier breakfast for us-chef came in a bit earlier! Room was spotless and bed comfy with lovely white cotton sheets, noticed everywhere was clean which was lovely to see. We... More

Stayed overnight as we were attending a function elsewhere. No lift to our top floor room so glad we didn't have much luggage!! Room was great and everything as it should be. Just felt breakfast was maybe a bit understaffed, another couple told us they'd waited 55 minutes to be served. Food when it arrived though was good...........

My group of 8 golfers stayed in the Chieftain Hotel for 4 nights in July 2014. The staff was very helpful, friendly, & accommodating. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the center of the city, so it's less expensive than it would be if it were located a little closer to the River Ness. The sports bar in... More

I have stayed in this hotel almost every week so far during 2014 and every second week during 2013 on business. The staff, owner, make you feel so welcome that I now call this hotel my second home. I even brought my wife with me on a number of occasions and she too feels at home at The Chieftain Hotel.... More

We have just returned from walking the Great Glen Way and this was our last night and we were not disappointed, Rosie you are a credit to the hotel, nothing was to much bother for you, anything we needed I.e. Hairdryer, Batteries for the Remote Control, was dealt with swiftly. Our room which had one large double and a single... More

If not for the terrible loss of one of my most sentimental items, I probably wouldn’t have bothered writing a review about the hotel's poor service - there is never anyone manning the reception as all available staff worked at the bar and the bell at the reception needs to be rung a few times before someone turns up if... Astounded to hear this, our Hotel is very sentimental to us! We feel our staff are very well mannered & take pride in our customer service. I can assure you the housekeeping staff or any other member of staff would not have taken your comb!! We have a lost property box for any items found & on most occasions have... More

The bathroom was so musky & damp we had to keep the door shut the smell was so bad. The bed was very cheap with cheap bedding, absolutely no cushioning or comfort, it did look modern though with nice burgundy decor. Curtains didn't block out the light & it was so hot in the hotel we had to keep the... More

The location is a 5 minutes walk from Inverness rail station (and, for distillery nuts, a further 2 minutes walk from the site of the Millburn distillery which closed in the 1980s). We booked well in advance and wanted an inexpensive place to stay for a night before picking up a hire car and continuing our holiday. We arrived quite... More

Made reservation online 3 months ago. arrived yesterday 7:30pm and they had given our room away. Said they reserved a room for us in Palace on the canal. Palace didn't know what we were talking about. Got Chieftain on phone they hung up on us. Two hours later they called and said they'd gotten us a room at Holiday Inn... More
