Well, the food is great. Let's get that clear folks. It's a well selected menu, standard pub grub but very well done. I had a starter of vegetable soup (volcanic hot but lovely) and then a main of chicken fillets (light and crispy batter and noise juicy chicken). Service was fast and efficient. No problems and staff were on hand... More

Rooms are adequate and small and the food served at this hotel is fantastic! Breakfast is a treat with piles of fresh berries and fruit and a large array of hot and cold foods buffet style. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room faced the car park, which did have a partial river view but the traffic noise... More

The rooms were hot but we could open the windows wide. The hotel is older but with old fashioned charm. Rooms very clean. But what we found fabulous was the food. Both breakfasts and 2 dinners - just like home cooked meals. The best food we had on a 22 day bus tour throughout British Isles. Tip - don't buy... More

Had a Sunday carvery here and the food was great, large selection of mains and side dishes. There was a huge selection of desserts. This is a very family friendly restaurant with toys available for children. Good service.

This is a really good and friendly hotel and the Carvery Meal is a good deal. The staff are very friendly and gave me a bowl of breakfast cereal 15 mins after breakfast time had ended. Has spacious dining areas and booking evening dinner is advised. A good place to stay for a few days

Arrived with a colleague last Tuesday afternoon and were made very welcome. Our rooms were at the rear on the ground floor so away from any potential traffic noise. We opted to eat in the hotel and clearly that decision was a good one as many locals also made it their venue for their evening meal and the bar and... More

Ok it's not the prettiest building and the rooms are dated but none of that mattered to us. Our room was quiet, clean, warm and we had comfortable bedding. The staff were just lovely, really hospitable. Offering great travel advice. Thank you. Breakfast was lovely and the gentleman that served us just charming. Nice porridge and loved the fresh berries!... More
