My wife and I recently stayed at the Norseman as part of a package holiday tour. Reading previous reviews it seems we were perhaps just unlucky. Whilst the renovations are to be commended we couldnt believe that the new carpet to the main dining area (which was half finished) was left unsecured with just a plastic caution sign ( obscured... Visiting Wick recently for the first time it was such a pleasure to visit the The Norseman for the Sunday Carvery.....what a fantastic choice of food and there must have been at least 25 desserts to choose from which made it very difficult to pick , my only niggle was the veg could be have been hotter. However the surroundings... More

We have over the last thirty years visited this hotel at least once a year. Four of us went back last week and found there are new owners and they are making such a difference to this hotel. The bar area and the toilets have been beautifully modernised and they are now decorating other public areasThe bedrooms are good sized... More

The hotel is ideal for public transport or car/bike. Very close to the railway station .good access to buses and with a good sized car park. Wick is the gateway to the beautiful North of Scotland. The north is very beautiful, stunning scenery, excellent hotels to eat at in Wick and Thurso,do not miss the tearooms at Bettyhill. The hotel is modern, very clean... More

A great location for the town centre and railway station. Free parking available. Friendly and helpful staff. The bedrooms although rather tired, were immaculately clean. However, this hotel is currently undergoing renovations in the bar area which I hope will extend to other areas. We spent one night here, after attending a wedding dance. My family all enjoyed a fabulous... More

This hotel is not great, but it does its job. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are clean (except the pillows which are rather old and smelly as a result) the water is hot, the shower works and the cost is reasonable. We did not have dinner here, but the breakfast was very comprehensive. Its well located, with easy... More

I stayed here to play at a Christmas 'do'. Lovely and warm, spacious entrance hall, bar and TV lounge with a fab big fireplace. Fantastic function room - excellent food - the carvery looked and smelled delicious! I had the stir fried veg with rice from the bar menu - supposed to be a starter but it was a meal... More

I recently stopped at the hotel at the finish of a classic car rally. We were a big party so filled the hotel. Hallways, stairs and the rooms a little run down. However everything worked in my room. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Nice bar and lounge area. We had a wonderful formal dinner with great food. The early breakfast... More

I have to go to Wick on business a few times a year and the Norseman always suits my needs. I stayed here again last week just for one night and it's always a welcoming place after a long drive from the central belt. I had called ahead believing I may arrive after 11pm but was assured by the kind... More
