The staff were great as were all the locals we met. The children were treated like the little people they are. The rooms actually had proper mugs in not those silly little teacups. The family room was the best we have stayed in. A seperate room for the boys but still behind our door. Darts pool and lots of board... more

As we had not been to Keiss, nor to Caithness before, we didn't know what to expect. Stayed one night on way to Orkney as ferry not running due to inclement weather. Staff very friendly and accommodating however second floor where our room located had an awful smell. Intolerable really, attempts by hotel to cover up with various fresheners proved of no benefit!!! more

Keiss is a small harbour village and sometimes depending on which way the wind blows there is a waft from the harbour and as the bedroom windows are open in the mornings during cleaning occasionly we do get a whiff .We are sorry if you found it so awful.

On arrival I was initially a bit upset as activehotel had charged me £60 for my room, but the rack rate in the lobby was £50, but nevermind.
