What fun! Guests are greeted at the door by Molly, a lab/ collie mix, who loves pats and is a general favorite. The hostesses are informal and laid back. Their enjoyment of running the B&B is quite evident. Children are welcome. Liz has developed a treasure hunt walk around town especially for children. I particularly liked sleeping in and having... My father and I have just returned from a 5 night stay in Thurso at the Pentland Lodge House and I have to say we were made to feel welcome and at ease immediately. The staff, and in particular our hostess Lisa were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The rooms were excellent - cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The cooked breakfasts were... More

If you are looking to visit Thurso, stay here. We had a fab time. Stayed here for 3 nights (arrived Sat 22 Oct, and left Mon 24 Oct). Wish we could have stayed longer. The House is really lovely and very spacious. Our room was very comfortable, modern, spacious and very clean. We stayed in the 'Hoy' room which we... More

This was definitely a a great find. Although it was tricky negotiating driving in a new town we were able to find it on foot and was more than welcome when we arrived early. Staff were excellent! Owners were fantastic. The room wonderful and large beautiful ensuite fully equipped with locally produced soaps and cookies for tea. Great view and... More

Had reservations about Thurso from various people. But on arriving at Pentland Lodge i couldnt see why people had been so negative.Firstly the hotel- we were greeted by a very pleasant lady who took us to our lovely clean attic room. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the staff were really nice. Thurso itself was a typical Scottish fishing village... More

Great place to stay, on way out of town but easy walking distance to shops, restaurants (Le Bistro recommended) etc. Near to bus stop for Scrabster ferry terminal. More

The hotel is beautiful, well appointed, very clean, and well maintained. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our bed was very comfortable, providing us with the best sleep we had on our recent three week trip to Northern Scotland. The tasty breakfasts, made from locally sourced ingredients, were promptly cooked to order and served in the beautiful dining room. This was... More

Apparently the shortbread is made by a local firm specially for Pentland Lodge. Pity, I would have liked to bring some home. They are on a oneway street so GPS/satnav may take you on a little detour. There is a large car park and the town centre is an easy walk for dinner at le Bistro. If you need to... More
