We just stopped in for a meal as the place looked good and had reasonable views. The menu was pretty basic but not unusual for pub food. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was reasonable and good value for money. Not the place for anything too special but good for a no-frills meal.

A great hotel. My mum and I had a large external room to stay in. Bit dated with all the wood but comfy beds and had small kitchen area with microwave and fridge with sink area. The bathroom was very modern. The walk to the hotel was a short one but if weather not brilliant then you will get wet... More

All you need for an inexpensive stay in a lovely part of the world. The chalets are basic but fantastic value for money, for which you are better phoning the hotel for best rates, the staff are nice and friendly and make time to talk. The chalets are clean and have oodles of hot water and nice big towels and... More

We stayed at the Weigh Inn for 1 night during a recent driving holiday around Scotland and would most definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. There are 2 types of rooms at the hotel: the cheap rooms are in separate shacks outside the main hotel. We had originally booked one of these rooms but requested a room upgrade upon... More

This hotel is located between Thurso and Scrabster and a 30 minute walk to Scrabster for the ferry to Orkney Islands. The bar is big and good for sports with lots of TV screens. Rooms are big and spacious and clean. Menu was typical Pub Grub type food and very good and breakfasts ample. Would stay here again when visiting... More

I just didn't enjoy this place. I booked one of the superior room lodges but it didn't look superior. Walls are dreary with marks here and there. The bathroom didn't look pleasing. It could certainly do with a make-over. I tried to have a chesseburger and chips but the burger was quite dry. The pub/restaurant area didn't look too bad.... More

Stayed here for several days while working nearby. Good hospitality was offered, pub grub and good beer. Huge room with large bathroom, however the jacuzzi bath was dirty and had not been used for a long time .... not nice, had to clean it out and disinfect it before I was happy to use it! That said everything else was... More

We stopped overnight before catching the ferry to the Orkneys. The hotel is clean and pleasant. As we were a large party we were spread out across the main building and some of the annexes. The room was large and comfortable. We were allocated the conservatory for our party so we were apart from other hotel guests which was nice.... More

Large hotel just outside Thurso. Good stop over if heading to Orkney via the Scrabster ferry. Clean but a bit tired. Food is so so pub grub, nothing to write home about. Staff are friendly and shows wide array of sports in the ashes bar. Decent hotel for a couple of nights.
