Lots has already been said about Pennyland that all it leaves me to say is that if you are staying in Thurso or the surrounding area stay here. The rooms are great and the breakfasts are even better and you cant get closer to the ferry terminal for a trip to Orkney. Whats not to like?

We stayed two nights at this lovely B&B, where nothing is too much trouble. The house is beautiful and the standard of service is exceptional, including a breakfast that will keep you going until supper! The hosts are friendly and full of information about the local area. We had a view from our window of the most northerly point of... More

I had stayed at Pennyland before as it is so close to the ferry for Orkney but I must returnand stay for more than one night as it is so good. A warm welcome from Carol and Raymond, the rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable, named after Raymond's favourite golf courses. Breakfast is really delicious with fresh fruits and cooked... A superb B&B with most helpful hosts for our three night stay, Raymond, Carol & Alison. We traveled by Rail & Raymond even picked us up from the station! When we visited the Orkney Islands we were taken & picked up to the Ferry terminal. And what a comfortable home to stay. We could also use the lounge dining area... More

The reviews previously posted are thoroughly deserved. I really enjoyed my stay and can see why Pennyland is very busy. Excellent hospitality and felt genuinely welcome. Room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was superb. Great views as well. I would have no hesitancy in recommending this B&B to anyone.

Fabulous. Very welcoming and comfortable. Thoroughly recommended and I will be back. This was my first time in a B&B for many years because I wanted a bit of a change. So glad I booked here. Can't fault it.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our tour of the north of Scotland. We had stayed with Raymond and Carol before and couldn't wait to return to their beautiful home. We stayed in St Andrews room again which is very spacious and comfortable with a HUGE bathroom!! Breakfast again was terrific with a lovely plate of fresh fruit served... More

The room and bathroom were wonderful as were Carol and Raymond. Breakfast first class. Ideal for the ferry to Orkney. Would love to go back and stay longer next time. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Beautifully restored farmhouse overlooking the sea. large room and bathroom great breakfast, what is not to like. Only criticism is the lack of a lounge for guests - nowhere to sit & watch tv. Tv in room is high on wall & we had to sit on the bed. Otherwise perfect.

I spent one night at pennylands last week with two friends. The b&b itself is gorgeous - fresh modern design with lovely high ceilings. And the hosts could not be more friendly. Delicious breakfast in the morning with local eggs. The highlight accommodation of a 10 day trip to the highlands. I could not recommend more highly.
