My wife and I along with another couple were visiting Thurso for an overnight and chose Pennyland House B&B to stay in on the 11th of October. We were advised that the owners were going to be away for the weekend and it would be one of their family who would look after us. We were slightly concerned that it... More

My husband and I booked into this wonderful B&B on Thursday 16th October. Where do I start, the welcome was lovely and friendly and Raymond one of the owners showed us all around before showing us to our room. We had one of the attic rooms and I can honestly say we were not disappointed, the room was spacious and... More

Just home after a night at Pennyland House to say we enjoyed it would be an understatement, A stunning house and a warm welcome on our arrival. The house is spectacular with an amazing history the rooms are spotless and attention to detail superb. I love being in Caithness after being their in college in Thurso over 30 years ago!... More

Looking for accomodation in Thurso for the night before our crossing to Orkney, we found The Pennyland. Wonderful hosts, comfortable and spacious bedroom and tasty breakfast...especially the local black pudding ( the best i've ever tasted...you can now keep that stuff from Stornaway!). Wish we had stayed longer and will definately return.

This is a truly fabulous B&B, with huge, luxurious rooms and lovely, friendly hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts were outstanding, served in a light-filled room overlooking the sea. We stayed twice (with a holiday on Orkney in between) so had two different rooms, and both were superb. We were also given great advice on choosing... More

We decided to stay at Pennyland after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and from recommendation from the owners of Glebe End, where we stayed the night before( see separate report) We were not disappointed . The hosts Carol and Raymond were just wonderful. The room was large with a great ensuite, breakfast was plentiful with lovely touches on presentation.... More

We stayed at Pennyland House for 3 nights from 4 August 2014. We were made most welcome by Raymond and Carol on our arrival. The house is impressive inside and out with ample parking for guests. We stayed in the Royal Dornoch room which has superb views of the Orkney's and Dunnet Head. The room was tastefully furnished and decorated... More

My partner and I stayed at Pennyland House for two nights in August and I can only support all of the other positive comments that have been made by guests. Raymond ad Carole are absolutely professional in their approach: the B&B is spotlessly clean, guests are given a warm welcome and are made to feel that nothing is too much... More

We stayed for three nights with Raymond and Carol. The property was very well presented, friendly and warm. Our hosts were remarkable in their generosity, they provided wonderful accommodation in the royal Dornoch room, breakfast was fresh and delicious with locally sourced produce and well cooked. Raymond had a wealth of tour information as he is Thurso born and bred... More

We had a 2 night break with friends in a very wet and windy august, but Pennyland guest house was the most welcoming and inviting place we have ever been. The beautifully furnished rooms are very comfortable with everything you could wish for including home made shortbread. Cosy and warm. Spacious showers. The hosts Carole and Raymond are very friendly... More
