The decor is a little outdated but don't let that fool you. The place is quite charming with very friendly staff. We stayed in a suite (technically outside the hotel) and adjacent to car park. It was a good size with a sitting area created by a curtain that splits the room in two. The breakfast included in price was... More

A decent hotel, but don't get the room under the kitchen if you want to sleep before 9pm as it is a busy kitchen and there is no way to sleep with the noise from above. Room comfortable, bed the same, food good. In all a comfortable stay, if I stay again I will not be asking for room 15... More

I stayed here as part of a bird watching holiday for one night. The rooms are a little dated but clean and tidy. I stayed in a room across the courtyard from the main hotel so if you don't want to get wet going to the bar or restaurant try to book a room in the main hotel. I had... More

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel in order to spend the day on the Orkney Isle. Our welcome was very friendly - all the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were directed to a chalet room across the car park which was clean, en suite and with TV and hospitality tray. We ate in the bar... More

Persistant wifi problems, can connect to hub but nothing loads, no wifi for the full week and no mobile service, rooms often cold and there is pest poison behind beds, cooked breakfast not too bad. Private car park which is good and friendly staff

Arrived at the Station Hotel after a long and cold journey to be met with a warm welcome at this older style hotel. Comfortable room, porridge and Marmite standard at breakfast, what more could anyone want? Lovely soft water makes hair feel wonderful after washing too! Helpful and obliging staff made this a worthwhile visit.

Location very convenient Friendly kind staff Useful suggestions from proprietor, e.g. he suggested we took a taxi to Cups Tearoom at Scrabster instead of catching the bus as it would be cheaper - he even called a taxi for us! Nice evening meal Good breakfast All facilities needed for a comfortable stay - thank you. Son's room had a close... More

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of an Insight tour group and had heard mixed reviews from one extreme to the other!! So I went with an open mind and found that doing so worked. The positives of this hotel is firstly its location....its the gateway to exploring the Orkneys. I was also not disappointed with the service... More

The hotel has large suites with its own car parking, rooms cleaned daily, large bathroom, towels changed daily, problems with internet, problems with a place at the table during breakfasts, modest breakfast and often served cold food.
