Stayed here as our the booking company my employer uses were struggling to find anywhere else. Rooms were clean and appeared to have been recently been decorated. I was on the top floor so had sloping ceilings to contend with. The shower room was tiny but I had a powerful shower and plenty of hot water. Not the sort of... More

We recently had a meal at The Holburn Hotel and it was very disappointing to say the least. There was really nothing to say about the service as there wasn't any. This was very overpriced and really poor quality - Do not order the steak baguette the steak is terrible.

The ouside of this hotel isn't very inviting but inside it's a different story. My single room was very clean and of a high standard , as was the en-suite bathroom. I ate in the downstairs bar which had excellent real ale (hard to find in Thurso....) from the Orkney Brewery, and a large plate of vegetarian pasta with garlic... More

Stayed in 4 hotels across Scotland all prebooked. The holborn was the one that I was worried about due to the mixed reviews. I shouldn't have been worried as it was a pleasant surprise. Room Very clean and comfortable , ok small tv with a freeview box but not a problem it does the job. Very friendly staff , great... More

Stayed one night here at a price of £80, on a tour of Scotland. The hotel is centrally located, and just an easy 10 minute walk from Thurso railway station. The small reception area was rarely ever manned. The bedroom had an en-suite shower room, but there was no bath. The double bed was reasonably comfortable. Very ancient microscopic Decca... More

My partner and I traveled from Wales to Thurso for a wedding last year (late review, sorry). It was very nice and simple and I have nothing bad to say about it. The room was basic with everything we needed and a very comfy bed, the staff were friendly and the bar was a very nice place to relax with... More

We chose to have lunch in the bar-restaurant for a change and were pleasantly surprised with the food - seafood platter, fish n chips and fajitas (a large sizzling plate of chicken, with 3 wraps and 3 accompaniments). All was well cooked and presented. The bar/lounge decor needs updating but we were there for a quick, tasty Sunday lunch and... More

We booked a1 night stay in the Annex at the hotel, The member of staff could not answer any of our question regarding the room. The annex compiled of two twin rooms and a separate bathroom. The rooms were to say the least dated but clean. I believe the annex rooms are not a reflection of the rooms in the... More

Apartments are very rundown, toaster didn't work, fridge was out too. Parking a major problem, top apartment door wouldn't lock, middle apartment had to get bed replaced, no sleep for 3 days for someone working 12 hour shifts not good enough. On the plus side the staff in the main hotel were nice, food was excellent

After spending 20 mins trying to find the place finally found only by chance, It's entrance is not on the road it states but a side road which it shares with the restaurant down stairs of a completely different name. There was no one at the reception so went into the Bar where we got one of the members of... More
