Comfortable house, big rooms, clean, beautiful views, but very unfriendly welcome...We've come 2 families with 4 kids, and when we've asked to heat our baby food, he's told us that he doesn't know how it works, because he has choosed have animals instead of children....Afterwards I've asked to go and see the farm with the children and he has answered... We recently stayed 2 nights at this B&B. It is a working farm complete with highland cows and sheep, dogs and cats. We enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was clean and comfortable and our breakfast was very good. We wish the internet signal had been stronger, but it is a remote area. Inn-keeper, Sandi, was the shining star... More

We stayed here before crossing to Orkney, and whilst I like some individuality, the standard of the furnishings was not up to standard expected of a three star establishment. The cats in the lounge were fine but surely the litter tray could have been in the owners own accommodation. Our towels were thin, ragged and of indistinguishable colour. I am... More

The husband is aloof and curt and seems to resent you being in his home. There are 5 cats in the guest area of the home as well as dozens of stuffed teddy bears and other animals. There were at least 100 stuffed animals on a shelf in our room. Dust collectors! like cats and have no allergies but I... More

We arrived to be welcomed with a pot of tea.The surroundings were dated and muddled. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was overall below expectancy. If you did not have a "cooked" meal there was very little choice. The toast was like cardboard and unpalatable, synonomous with being toasted from frozen. Overall the whole experience leaves a lot... I should have read the reviews before booking this accommodation. If you love cats and listening to other people's conversation through the walls this place is for you. Fortunately there is no TV in the rooms as the noise would be worse. On the plus side you can pay by visa, the haddock and poached egg is a nice change... More

I stayed here with my son and have described the host, Ron's, attitude as though he has seen Fawlty Towers and thought it was a documentary. How they have any rating is beyond me. I could not get the shower to work in the morning so had to enter the breakfast area and request assistance and was more or less... More

We stayed here before getting a ferry to the Orkney Isles the next day. I have to say that I was very impressed. On arrival our host offered us a cup of tea or coffee which we duly accepted. She also offered a good suggestion for an evening meal. They also take your order for the breakfast next morning. The... More

We had a very warm welcome from our hostess, Sandy. The house is on a farm and the reception room is very bright and welcoming. Sandy is very friendly and kind with a great sense of humour. The breakfasts were large and presented very nicely. Sandy gave us a great recommendation for dinner at a local hotel. When the time... More

The property has beautiful views and Sandy is friendly enough but that is the end of the positives. I booked this B & B due to the location and the fact that it was 3*. I'm afaid I cannot see how it achieved this rating. The guest areas seem to be where the four or five (I lost count) cats... More
