A pre-booked place to stay is always a good idea in distant places in any country. This one paid off! The guesthouse was warm and welcoming on a dampish cool late afternoon at the top end of Scotland. The hosts immediately made us a warm drink and made us welcome. our bicycles were securely stored and we unwound chatting to... More

I recently took a solo trip to the John O Groats guest house.... I arrived in the evening to a building right on outskirts of village (So much so i could touch the Village sign from my parked car), which made it difficult to then visit places in village that night as it was a long walk back in the... This is the second time I have stayed here and it was as good as ever. The welcome is excellent, the food good and the beds comfy - what more do you need. It is not five star luxury but it is not trying to be and is priced as such. Even those reviewers who gave it only three stars... More

My Wife and I were on a business trip and had arranged to stay here, when we pulled up out side we were met outside by Alistair and Sheena who welcomed us in. ( nice touch) The room was clean, tidy and warm as it was cold and windy out so was nice to feel cozy. The bed was good... More

The host was very nice when we arrived and the position is great if you just got back from the Orkney tour which ends at 7.30pm, but the room and especially the bathroom were not clean at all, same story for the breakfast kitchenware. There was no hairdryer in the room and the hot water finished while I was in... More

We were made very welcome on our visit. The rooms were clean and tidy and the beds were comfortable. We would certainly use this bed and breakfast again if in the area. The owners were flexible and thoughtful to visitors' needs. The only recommendation would be an updating to the decor which looked slightly dated.

We needed a place to stay over before getting the ferry to the Orkneys the next morning and were lucky to find Alistair and Sheena's welcoming B and B. (Thank you to the other reviewers!) It's great to find somewhere that is happy to take people for just one night, and the friendly welcome and service from our host and... More

We picked this Guest House as there was a large group of us cycling from John O'Groats to Lands End. We were greeted very warmly by the owners, who i must say were fantastic. The rooms are very basic but clean and tidy. The was a small lockable shed to keep the bike dry and safe. We felt very welcome... More

This was the only place in John O Groats that I could find where my two little dogs were welcome to stay. Alistair and Sheena were both very helpful, recommending and booking us onto a trip to Orkney the following day that we otherwise wouldnt have known about. It was a three night stay and we had a great room... More
