The Crusk Inn was a wonderful place to stop before and after our ascent of Ben Klibreck. They fed and watered us, even though we arrived back after hours, and even lent us their OS map for the climb. They provided warm and unpretentious hospitality that got our hiking holiday off to a great start.

My son and I walked from John O'Groats to Land's End and the Crask Inn was one of the best places we stayed. We walked into the Crask Inn having spent two days walking over Knockfin Heights and Loch Choire Forest, wild camping. We were wet, cold and tired. As the Inn was already full when we booked, we had... More

"The " place to recover for a fatigue traveller. It was windy and 12/ 14 degrees, a tricle of rain. The landlord heated on (with?) peat in the stove, he got real ale on the tap from Black Isle brewery. The red kite and The blonde. He also had scottish fruitcake. Closer to heaven is difficult to come, without beeing... More

Ah The Crask. What a place. My brother, his wife, my father, my mother and myself all stayed there a few weeks ago. It was unbelievable. No TV and No Internet (however Mike said they should be getting internet soon). THANK GOODNESS! We played darts, swapped stories with other residents, played with the dogs, played a hilarious game of cards... More

We were, like many who stay here, cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats. I cannot put into words how remote this place is - not a sheep or a hedge in sight for miles around. The village of Crask consists of one house, and this inn opposite. There is a small well stocked bar (good range of whiskeys), and... More

This is a magical place to stay. Transported back 100 years there is no Internet or television and the rooms. while comfortable, are not luxurious. Instead the hotel is homely and the welcome from the owners cannot be faulted. They have created a relaxed environment where you can relax and feel at home. The owners are incredibly generous and will... More

I stayed in some excellent places on my recent Scottish holiday but The Crask was the one I keep thinking about and would love to return to. This place is unique, the friendly bar with the peat fire burning and excellent beer makes you feel at home right away. My room was comfortable and warm. We were a party of... More

the Crask Inn is no ordinary pub/ b&b. The food, welcome and convivial ambience is out of this world. If you are looking for luxury, you are probably not going to appreciate this place. Mike and Kai are so friendly, so welcoming. They were overbooked and put us up in a spare room. I understand this isn't unusual. They couldn't... More

As many people have alluded to it is quirky, but that is why it is so good. We had cycled from John O'Groats and needed a comfortable bed and excellent food - we got it. The best haggis ever eaten, black pudding to die for all in the company of the other guests. You will not find better value for... More

I normally do not use hotels and B&B accommodation when I am cycle touring but the Crask Inn was at the extreme range of a day's cycling from Thurso. I could have camped there but chose to book a room when I discovered that the very reasonable room fee included dinner as well a breakfast. I made slow progress and... More
