I went up and down Ben Hope, and then looked on the map for somewhere to stay. I saw Crask Inn and remembered the recommendation from other hikers. I could have camped outside or stayed in the bunkhouse, but there was a single room free, and so I went for that. The inn has no mod-cons like TV, etc, but... More

We stopped for a coffee before climbing Ben Hope which isn't too far away. It was a misty morning and very atmospheric - we weren't even sure they were open for business but a lovely lady who works there invited us in for coffee (the owners were off voting for/against devolution when we were there). We sat in the bar... More

Stepping into another time zone with character and charm. Not for those who seek all mod cons perfect chemical water and really for those happy to go without TV and Internet. Those happy too to share their space with the residents and visitors dogs and also the proprietors bonnie collies too! Very animal friendly! Meals at a set time and,... More

Don't stay here if your idea of perfection is a Premier Inn. There is nowhere else like the Crask. We were cycling LEJOG. The Inn is like stepping back into the 1950s with its decor. The welcome was great, the food was just what we wanted and very homely. We stayed on the shortest night of the year and still... More

I stayed here on a trip north to go hill-walking. This isn't a chain hotel, so dont expect it to be such, but do expect a genuine friendliness, willingness to help and real hospitality. It's what the highlands are about.

Stayed at The Crask as part of LEJOG back in early July and there isn't much more to add to all the other 5 star reviews as I can only reiterate/ditto their comments. If you want and like your National Chain all the same bland sole less albeit comfortable all mod cons etc. hotel/B&B's then the Crask isn't for you.BUT... More

The Crusk Inn was a wonderful place to stop before and after our ascent of Ben Klibreck. They fed and watered us, even though we arrived back after hours, and even lent us their OS map for the climb. They provided warm and unpretentious hospitality that got our hiking holiday off to a great start.

My son and I walked from John O'Groats to Land's End and the Crask Inn was one of the best places we stayed. We walked into the Crask Inn having spent two days walking over Knockfin Heights and Loch Choire Forest, wild camping. We were wet, cold and tired. As the Inn was already full when we booked, we had... More

"The " place to recover for a fatigue traveller. It was windy and 12/ 14 degrees, a tricle of rain. The landlord heated on (with?) peat in the stove, he got real ale on the tap from Black Isle brewery. The red kite and The blonde. He also had scottish fruitcake. Closer to heaven is difficult to come, without beeing... More
