One of the best places to stay while visiting Aviemore. It's a bit outside the town but it's location is amazing. It's by the Loch and the view from our 2nd floor room was stunning. The staff and owners are extremely friendly and allowed us to use the kitchen facilities to warm our babies food / milk. The only negative... More

Excellent hotel. Already trying to work out when we can manage back for a two night stay. Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms comfortable and clean. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely with an excellent range of options. Very comfortable bar and lounge areas to relax in. Well worth a visit.

This was just what we were looking for - an authentic B&B with the focus on all of the right places - food, comfort, hospitality, cleanliness, welcome, and location. Situated just outside of Aviemore it benefitted from the proximity to all of the local attractions, whilst at the same time occupying a pleasant spot close to Loch Alvie, overlooking fields.... More

My Husband, myself and our 9 year old daughter stayed for 1 week at the Rowan Tree. Don't expect a grand, modern hotel it isn't. This is a small quaint old coach house with plenty of history and character, possible could do with a little updating, but it certainly didn't ruin my holiday. Our room and en suite was situated... This hotel restaurant provides generous sized servings in a pleasant though slight formal atmosphere. The portion sizes do make it difficult to fit in 3 courses unless you are really hungry. The staff are friendly and attentive. A nice touch is being able order a drink and sit in the song or he bar whilst you order your meal. The... More

We stayed for two nights, first impressions of the hotel lived up to expectations. Met with a very warm reception and decor etc very welcoming. We were given room 12, this overlooks the rear of the hotel, and simply marvellous views, room spacious enough, tastefully decorated, large TV, radio alarm and most importantly the most wonderfully comfortable bed. There are... More

Awesome hotel and restaurant. The staff are lovely and are prepared to do anything to help. Our little dog was most welcomed. Food is amazing - especially the cheesecake and the fresh orange juice at breakfast. Our second visit and will definitely come again.

All that needs to be said, really, is that the Rowan Tree near Aviemore is a very good hotel indeed, and after our 5 night stay there, we thoroughly recommend it. To add a few details: Our bedroom was roomy and spotlessly clean, and while the furniture could be seen as being a bit dated, the bed was very comfortable,... More

We have eaten a few times now at the Rowan Tree and it has always been one of our favourites but the Rowan Tree surpassed themselves this time! The food was exceptional and our waiter, Josh, couldn't have been more helpful. He was very knowledgeable of the menu, the Chef obviously takes the time with his team to explain what... More

Stopped on our way back to Edinburgh for a lovely lunch in the sun - steaks and beautiful surroundings. When we left our camera behind and gave Rowan Tree a call they were more than helpful and sent it to us within a day - great service and very appreciated!
