The Rowan Tree is a mile or two outside the main town of Aviemore, in the heart of the Cairngorms. We found the hotel to be quiet but charming. The staff were extremely friendly and the food is really excellent. more

We stayed at The Rowan Tree for three nights at the beginning of December. As always we received a warm welcome. We had a lovely room which was clean and cosy. Each room has a tray with the usual kettle etc. but here they have cafetieres and real coffee which is so nice compared to some of the instant rubbish... more

This hotel takes some beating in terms of welcome , comfort ,value for money and exceptional food plus attention to detail . Makes staying at 4 star hotels not worthwhile .
