A couple wanting cheap & cheerful self catering accommodation for a couple of days walking in the Cairngorms on the 4th November. We had the family room - basic but lots of space. Not very hot water, otherwise fine. I needed some printing done - staff obliged by letting me use the office and refusing any payment for it -... More

Four guys on a golfing weekend, We wanted somewhere cheap but comfortable to stay for two nights while we golfed the nearby Spey Valley golf course and we couldn't be any more happy than what we got at the Bunkhouse. The staff were very friendly and very helpful , The bunkhouse itself was very clean and comfortable with en-suite shower... More

Booked two days in advance with Monika to stay here for one night this week but when we got there, they couldn't find any record of our booking and the "family rooms" (for three of us) had been taken. Also, I was quoted £65 for the family room initially but we ended up paying £70 because there was no record... More

To start with, reservation is difficult as no-one answers the phone or returns messages. I checked in at the pub and was given a dorm bed in an empty 6 bed room and told the place was pretty quiet so they didn't expect any other arrivals that night. I was awoken at 4 in the morning by three guys arriving,... More

Hello and thanks for your feedback. I am sorry you had difficulty in reaching us before arriving for your stay. Generally speaking, we have a member of staff dealing with all telephone message and emails on a daily basis, so no one should have to wait more than 24 hours for a response. Our voicemail does also invite you to... More

Less than £20 for a shared room with en-suite shower and desperate toilet. Towel also included in price. Great kitchen with free tea and coffee, girl at reception showed me all around so I knew where everything was. Less than 5 minute walk to the middle of the High St so everything easy accessible ..excellent place!

Some iffy reports on here, but 6 of us have just returned and the place was all I wanted/expected it to be. It was clean, wasn't noisy and decent value at £108 for 6. As a cheap place to rest your head and have breakfast it was fine.

A nice hostel - maybe a bit pricier than some, but not over-priced, and they have an ensuite family room (a double and two bunks, with what looked like a sofa bed) which lets you spread you stuff out a bit. The kitchen's fairly small, but the hostel's not enormous, so that wasn't a problem when we were there (which... More

Had a nights stay here in early january. Just looking for a bed whilst exploring aviemore. have previously stayed at the proper youth hostel across the tracks so thought would give this place a try as it was slightly cheaper. No answer on the phone when trying to check availability and not voicemail or alternative number offered. Check in was... More

Thanks for getting in touch. Since your feedback we have ensured there is always an alternative number (for The Old Bridge Inn) on our voicemail, so people should never have any difficulty reaching a member of staff when they need to. We are also working on an on-line booking system to make things even easier, which is in the pipe-line.... More
