Last year I came to Aviemore and stayed in the youth hostel across the way, which was fine, but I figured this time I would try out the Bunkhouse, attached to the super lovely Old Bridge Inn restaurant. The folks working there are super helpful, they have a handy drying room for all your soggy boots and gaitors and things,... More

We stayed here as a large group. The rooms were cramped, with the "clean" bedding having hairs all over it in all the beds and the bathroom floor looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for ages. The kitchen is inadequate for the amount of people the hostel holds and is a germ breeding ground. The stove is a commercial... More

My second stay at this bunkhouse, and it hasn't got much better in a year since I last visited. It suffers from cramped bedrooms with little room to store gear. The bunkhouse is also very noisy, and sound travels very easily through the breeze block construction. The ensuite bathrooms are not great, there is never any soap provided at the... More

It's not that bad. The rooms are ok, the kitchen is ok, it's warm and the showers are hot. However we felt a bit duped at paying £70 for a family room which was pretty run down. No soap in bathroom, broken bed frame, manky couch, no fan or window in bathroom. Scabby old windows with no child safety, deathly... More

When we booked this hotel, there were no high hpes of quality but expected basic standards of hygiene. The check in was a long process, no one to help to checkin or with our luggage to the rooms. the rooms were stinky with almost no ventilation and the heater was not working. The bathroom curtains was not changed for possibly... More

Booked the Bunkhouse for a group of 14 girls, ages ranging from 24 to 62, for one night for a hen party. The bride being a country girl at heart - along with everyone else - would not have enjoyed a tacky dress up pub crawl around a city. As the group was so large, we got sole use of... More

Nicely priced for family room, comfortable enough, nice staff. Only down side little bit of litter from previous people using room and sheets on one bed smelling little bit stale. Would def use again. The restaurant next door again was very good.pleasant little spot and would return.

Had bunk room for 6 to ourselves: 2 double bunks and a double bed. 2 spars supporting bed were broken. This, along with heat inside and noise outside, meant not much sleep happened. Music from car outside played till gone 4am. Not hostel's fault music played outside beyond hostel but certainly kept us awake. May be less intrusive had our... More

I slept there one night in the dorm which was a nice room with attached bathroom and toilet. The staff is not really present, they are in the pub next door and you should go there to get in touch with them. The key was difficult, but I found a way to use it. The kitchen was nice, but people... More
