27 of us hired out the entire bunkhouse for a weekend for a stag do and it was a perfect base for the weekend. The Kitchen is a bit small for the amount of people but seats across the road outside if the weather is good.

Having booked a twin room, it seems we actually pay for the privilege of having a four bed dorm to ourselves. Fair enough, but bed was very squeaky, facilities basic and at £50 for a room with the bins outside the window I'd stay in a B&B elsewhere every time.

Like said in the title, the bunkhouse's walls must be made of cardboards because you can hear every little noise! The rooms are niether small nor big, the bathroom is OK. On the other hand, the kitchen and the eating area is very small to welcome every guests. Finally about the staff, well I can't say, I didn't really see... More

Was here with a large group of friends for a weekend in Aviemore. Really enjoyed our time here and the bunkhouse was perfect for the occasion. The common room/kitchen was big enough for the 20 of us. Rooms were clean & en-suite. The owners were brilliant, very helpful, good fun and accommodating. No problems dropping off bags early etc. The... More

'The Ayrshire Waysters' stayed here on the last day of our walk on the East Highland Way. Clean, tidy and well decorated. The 4 of us were given a 6 bed room with en suite shower and adjacent toilet which gave us more space. Beds were comfy and bed linen clean and fresh. Used the kitchen the next morning and... More

Having stayed in many hostel round the world I think this one is good value, we had a private room for the 2 of us which was a 4 bed rooms in so was also a family room, the room also had an en suite which in a hostel is a real plus for £50 per night per room. The... More

Last year I came to Aviemore and stayed in the youth hostel across the way, which was fine, but I figured this time I would try out the Bunkhouse, attached to the super lovely Old Bridge Inn restaurant. The folks working there are super helpful, they have a handy drying room for all your soggy boots and gaitors and things,... More

We stayed here as a large group. The rooms were cramped, with the "clean" bedding having hairs all over it in all the beds and the bathroom floor looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for ages. The kitchen is inadequate for the amount of people the hostel holds and is a germ breeding ground. The stove is a commercial... More

My second stay at this bunkhouse, and it hasn't got much better in a year since I last visited. It suffers from cramped bedrooms with little room to store gear. The bunkhouse is also very noisy, and sound travels very easily through the breeze block construction. The ensuite bathrooms are not great, there is never any soap provided at the... More

It's not that bad. The rooms are ok, the kitchen is ok, it's warm and the showers are hot. However we felt a bit duped at paying £70 for a family room which was pretty run down. No soap in bathroom, broken bed frame, manky couch, no fan or window in bathroom. Scabby old windows with no child safety, deathly... More
