Excellent mountain training courses, with superb guides. All kit available to hire fir free. We had a wonderful time on the winter skills course. The food provided was amazing and extensive! Excellent bar with cairngorm real ales and a massive malt whiskey list! Rooms were adequate if basic, but the shower was the best I've met in a hotel ever!... More

The main purpose of the visit was definitely the winter skills course and not the accommodation. The accommodation is a few steps up from a youth hostel, it is not hotel standard, beds were rock hard, not ideal after a few days in the hills. The mobile phone reception and the Wi-Fi is also very poor to non-existent. However that... More

I had been to Glenmore Forest before and wanted to return, as it is such a beautiful place and much nicer than Aviemore, just down the road. I happened across the fact that Glenmore Lodge offers b&b by a lucky accident. This is a centre for outdoor activities and b&b places depend on whether there are spare rooms once the... More

We went to Glenmore on the 5 day Summer Mountain Skills Hillwaking Course and absolutely loved every minute of it and it was great to be pushed out of our usual comfort zone under safe instruction. The course left us far more confident in our route planning and navigation skills, to the extent that we are now far more adventurous in... Didn't stay here but ate and drank in the bar while staying at glenmore campsite. Really tasty food, good selection of local beer, some on tap. Staff were lovely AMD the view out the window of the cairngorm plateau was beautiful.

Back to Glenmore Lodge for another great visit to the Cairngorm National Park. The location is great provided you're not after a 5min walk to pubs and restaurants. You will be able to fall out the front door and walk / bike into the Cairngorms. On a previous trip we've even been on a pre breakfast trip to swim in... More

Spent a few days here to do a kayaking course. The course itself was great. I learned a lot and the instructor was very good. The other aspects of the accommodation are OK; rooms are clean and tidy and the bathrooms were of reasonable quality. The bar in the lodge is comfy and has a pool table. There is a... More

Beautifully situated Lodge in the village of Glenmore , 8 miles north of Aviemore, 4 miles from Cairngorm mountain. The Lodge is a fabulous base for any type of holiday , there are plenty of activities both in and out of the lodge for guests to get involved in. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with twin beds, a fantastic shower,... More

We booked up for a couple of nights at Glenmore lodge, staying in one of the self-contained lodges in the grounds, after having previously stayed in the main lodge for a night. We were a bit taken aback when we re-read the booking information which stated that we couldn't access the lodge until 7pm on the day of arrival, but... More
