The host is very friendly and attentive, breakfast is all ok and freshly served. The earliest time for breakfast is at 8:30 am. We wanted to start our hike quite early and asked if we could maybe have some granola or fruit before leaving. It was brought up to our room the evening before (Yoghurt, cornflakes, juice fruit and milk)... More

Stayed here with my son for two nights. The room was cleaned thoroughly and beds made up after our first night. The lady who runs the place is very friendly and asked how our day has been which is always nice. Breakfast was very nice. Only complaint was the room we were in was too hot and we couldn't open... Hello, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us, and thank you for taking the time to let us know, I do wish you had asked about opening your window as it does open, it's a velux window and it just pulls down to open and you get plenty of fresh air. Hope you visit us again. Many thanks Ellen@Vermont More

Enjoyed a single night here on a cycling holiday. Found rooms to be relatively spacious for this type of accommodation, and well furnished. En suite facilities perfectly acceptable, with a shower of reasonable pressure (always a crunch feature for me in the UK). Very welcoming. Excellent 'gastro-pub' style meals available only a couple of minutes walk away at the Winking... More

Very friendly owner. The room was clean and quite spacious. Only let down was there was no shower gel, which nowadays we've come to expect, and the fan in the bathroom in the room underneath us or next door, not sure which, was very loud and keeps going for absolutely ages which is annoying when you're trying to sleep. Overall enjoyed... More

We have just returned from a last minute visit for 1 night at Vermont. We received a friendly welcome and were lead to our room on the ground floor. We were very disappointed by the cleanliness of the room with hairs in the shower and did not seem to have a thorough clean prior to our arrival. The room could... More

In response to your review, I am disappointed you were not happy with your room, the rooms have only recently (in the last year and half) been decorated so do not understand this comment. As for the shower, it is a shared shower room/toilet and can only hope that the person with whom you share leaves it in a clean... More

We (3 of us) have just returned from aviemore and the Vermont guest house from a weekend of snowboarding. We arrived later than the check in but kept in touch via phone with owner to let her know we were running slightly behind which was no problem at all and Ellen was very friendly! Originally there were only two of... More

I have just stayed here for 7 nights, It was perfect, everything from the minuite I stepped foot in there till I left. Everything was clean and tidy every day. The room was very warm which was great as I was on the mountain each day. The location is fantastic, bus stop the the mountain literally on the other side... More

I recently stayed here for 2 nights with a friend in a double room with shared bathroom. The room is on the small side but it was warm, cosy and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the owner was very friendly and attentive. The only problem was being kept awake at night by a gentlemen with a cough in a... More

We had a lovely stay in the Vermont Guest House. The owner was very welcoming and on hearing we were taking part in a run in the morning and leaving before breakfast, offered to leave us a tray with cereal, yoghurt and fruit, which was very nice. The rooms are cosy and clean and the guest house is just a... More
