After having just spent three nights here I feel that the accommodation, hospitality of the Inn and the food are excellent value for money. I had a welcoming , comfortable stay and has good access to shops and would return should I revisit Aviemore Thankyou for a pleasant stay!

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night through laterooms (not impressive with their booking service) as when we arrived only 1 room had been booked. the staff quickly sorted a second room. bedrooms were basic, clean and comfortable with tea/ coffee/ biscuits, etc. breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of choice. was impressed how quite the ground floor bedrooms were especially... Wife and I stayed here two nights at the start of October and were quite impressed for the price. We booked the last available room and from reading the previous reviews it may have been the best of the bunch. Not a big room, but clean, nice decor with tea &coffee making and lovely view of the mountains. Bathroom though,... More

My Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights, 12th - 14th October 2014. The staff were very welcoming and attentive especially as I had a broken back. The twin room was comfortable and warm. Breakfast was plentiful and kept us going all day. The Evening menu was small and varied and all food was of excellent quality and very... More

With a bit of TLC, this could be a really nice hotel. However, it's not. It's very run down and actually pretty overpriced. Our room was filthy. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned for ages - there was beer bottle top in the very dusty bowl of pot pouri - which, in itself, looked like it had been sitting... More

This hotel is right on the main street in Aviemore so is ideally located. From the outside you can tell it has seen better days but this isn't immediately off-putting. It has a car park to the side which is handy. Inside, the general feel is very 1970's in the style of the décor so it just feels a bit... More

We are not snobs and were not looking for 5 stars but this hotel was disappointing! On arrival was not impressed with exterior of hotel - looked uncared for and was a sign of things to come. Allocated room 1 - small, tired carpet and 2 single beds that both had loose headboards. En-suite bathroom or cupboard was tiny, no... More

If you decide to stay at Mackenzies you must know that you'll get what you pay for. The Highland Inn is not a 4 star accomodation but it is definitely worth the money you have to pay for. The food is good and the staff is friendly. Our room was tiny, but clean and comfortable. Because of the price I... More
