We booked this Hotel as all the Hotels we contacted in Edinburgh, our real destination, were fully booked due to the Fringe. The manager was friendly enough and guided us to parking at the rear of the building. The car park is first come first served and its very cramped, you need to know what time the person parked behind... More

Stayed for one night, and fortunately arrived at 4pm so we were able to check in straight away - thankfully didn't risk arriving early as we would have been ignored - like we were when trying to check out. Stayed one night, and while it is a beautiful building in a great location the decor and furniture need updating. The... More

My other half and I had a night out in Glasgow last year and decided to book a hotel (only getting round to my reviews now!) . Found this one on booking.com for a great price and the location was perfect for where we'd be going. On arrival we were met in reception and taken straight to our room, it... More

I wasn't expecting a five star hotel, however the bathroom could have done with a clean. Did what it had too do for the night and the location was very good. Nice local restaurants, bars and pubs within a five minute walk. For a business traveller, being provided a hand written invoice is not the best thing.

Well the only saving grace is the location and free parking; not really anything to do with the hotel or its service. On arrival (we were early) we found a notice on the door to advise check in was 4pm. Luckily Brian was in the entrance hall and we were able to grab his attention and persuade him to let... More

Location is good for the West End and Byres Road. Easy access to the city via Hillhead Underground and bus routes. Easy access also to route to Loch Lommond and The Trossachs. Botannic gardens is a stones throw away. Those are the plus points. Unfortunately for us thats where it ended. On the minus side the room I stayed in... More

Located in a Georgian townhouse, this property has access and parking issues if you're arriving by car. Parking is in a small and congested yard behind the hotel in a lane which is difficult to find. If your room is at the top, it's quite a hike if you have luggage. Staff is a sole major domo and check in... More

I can see why this place gets negative reviews but it's a pretty decent hotel. It's in a great location just off byres road so lots of nice pubs and restaurants not too far away. Its also just across the road from the Botanic gardens which are great for a wander around. Its about a 10 minute walk to the... More

Positives: * great location for the west end * the one member of staff I met was polite enough Negatives, from less to more important: * my single room was small, shabby, and poorly maintained. * pretty poor breakfast and horrible coffee - I didn't bother with it after the first morning. * NOISE: the hotel is directly opposite Oran...
