We decided to have a weekend in Glasgow as respite from our own house restoration. I spent ages looking at the options of places to stay and after feeling demoralised at the drivel available I eventually found the Alamo. We wanted to stay somewhere that would feel like a real treat and have individual character. Firstly - always check their... More

We planned a trip to visit our neice at Uni at short notice and I am so glad that we booked the Alamo! From the moment we arrived and met with Emma we knew we had made the right choice. We were made to feel so welcome (her two young boys were also very hospitable)! The location is fantastic -... More

A bit of a late review but my husband and I stayed in November for my birthday weekend. We stayed in the room with the 3D TV. It was a lovely, comfortable room. If I'm being picky the plastic waste bin didn't really tie in with the rest high quality of the room, but a small point. Our robes were... More

Instead of rambling on about all the details of my visit, I'll just keep it short. Steve and Emma are the best hosts I've encountered in my adult travels. They were accommodating to our party's lodging needs and all around just nice and helpful. The lodging is great. The breakfast is good. The location is excellent and easily reached by... More

Just back from a 3 night stay, stayed here as close to where I was attending a course for work. You are made to feel at home as soon as you enter the guest house, we were offered robes to use as we didn't have an en suite room, which I was concerned about but this didn't cause any problems.... We spent two nights at the curiously-named Alamo Guest House at a lovely in-town location adjacent to the fabulous Kelvingrove Park and near Kelvingrove Museum and the University of Glasgow. Our hosts, Steve and Emma, were warm and welcoming and were constantly there to help us find the best things to do in their fabulous metropolitan city, how to get... More

Hi, recently returned for third visit to The Alamo as was in Glasgow on business again. The great impression I had from my first two visits was realised again. The place is so welcoming with the owners happy to chat which is great when travelling solo. The period decor is well done with the bathrooms tip top too. Breakfast is... More

This is a very classy establishment run by lovely people! I don't think I've stayed anywhere that feels more like home. Very friendly place, great breakfast, and beautiful Victorian decor. Stunning interior with lovely detailing. Service to a level far beyond what anyone would expect. We had three rooms: a large double with en-suite, and a twin and another large... More

Excellent in all respects, just what I was looking for. Hosts could not have been friendlier, room quiet, comfortable and spacious, breakfast top notch. Would recommend to anyone. A rare solo trip for me, collecting my daughter, but would have no hesitation bringing any of the family here.

We had a great time at the Alamo Guest House! Its a great location right near Kelsingrove Park (and within walking distance of Crabshakk and Firebird - yummy!). We splurged on the luxury en-suite room and thoroughly enjoyed it! That bathtub is pretty awesome! It was a bit of a walk to the city centre but enjoyable. It's also a... More
