I'd highly recommend the Alamo! Steve and Emma were just lovely- helpful and accommodating in every way. Steve sat down with a map and gave us all kind of suggestions of where to go and how to get around Glasgow. Our room had a DVD player and a flat-screen TV, and they have a collection of HUNDREDS of DVDs to... more

I visited Glasgow for business and was lucky enough to find a room at the Alamo (which I came across through Tripadvisor). It's a really a lovely place to stay and I can't recommend it highly enough. I found the Alamo ideally located for the university and for meeting friends to go out in the evening. It's right on Kelvingrove... more

The Alamo Guest House is a beautifully renovated home furnished with amazing antiques (admire the ceiling in the breakfast room). When we arrived (quite late) Steve and Emma were hosting an impromptu whiskey tasting for the guests. The service was amazing! We arrived in Glasgow without much agenda, Steve asked if we would mind some recommendations . . . we... more

We selected the Alamo Guest House for its location and positive reviews on TA and were not disappointed. The owners have done a great job with renovations and we had a beautiful antique bedroom down stairs with its own ensuite for our 2 nights. The breakfast room is a lovely bright airy place with a very healthy selection. Steve and... more

The Alamo Guest House was "brilliant."This west end location is perfect. Near Kelvingrove Museum, Transport Museum and Glasgow U. It's right across the street from an awesome park, which includes bowling green, tennis courts and paved walking routes. Steve, Emma and Kristen, the inn-keepers, are fantastic. They are friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was always freshly prepared and hot. The... more

We chose the Alamo Guest House for its strategic location and positive reviews on TA. The Alamo is situated directly across Kelvingrove Park from Glasgow University, and due East of the Art Museum. The Alamo met or exceeded all of our expectations, especially the wonderful breakfasts and friendly hosts. Our basement room was clean and well-appointed, thought the shared bathroom... more

Being world weary from extensive business travel and identikit bedroom factory hotels, the Alamo was a breath of fresh air. A speldid building and location and the cosy, cossetted feel that can only come from a family owned, family run establishment. Even though I had a late arraival and an early start I left refreshed after a fabulous night's sleep... more

My friend and I stay in a standard double bedroom. The room is well decorated with a comfy bed. It's not en-suite but the bathroom is just next door and have a REAL bathtub. The hotel is located slightly away from the city centre but it took us about £4.00 from Central Station to there at 11.00 p.m. The owner... more

What a wonderful stay. Steve was immediately very welcoming and helpful. There is no car park but onstreet parking is free after 6pm midweek and all weekend, and if you need to park during weekdays the Alamo have parking permit tickets which cost £4 per day. There is free wifi, and you can borrow a laptop if you need to.... more
