Wonderful Victorian style house, friendly owner just like a neighbour, we stay here for 2 nights, close to the University, nice walk nearby. The most impressive is they very support local society and fair-trade, they provided fair trade biscuits for the welcoming snack and a lot of local society product can be found in their common area.

My wife and I, along with nine others from throughout the United Kingdom, had a reunion long weekend at the Alamo Guest House in mid-September. With members of the group from as far spread as Caithness, Edinburgh, East Anglia, the Midlands and Devon we wanted a base from which to tour Glasgow and impress our friends. We could not have... This was our first trip to Scotland and made us feel like it will not remain long so. The house is delightly old, but efficiently modernised. It includes big bathroom and shower rooms, all-wooden dining-room, and a 21-year old cat who will briefly acknowledge your arrival before aristocratly ignoring you for the rest of your stay, all conscious that he... When travellling often for conferences, it's nice to stay at a place that has a personality of it's own. That's the kind of thing you remember years ahead. Alamo Guest House has that special feeling. I certainly enjoyed staing there and when doing business at the university, the Alamo Guest House is also excellently located. I'll reccomend it to both... More

"A warm welcome to two weary travellers to a fantastic entrance hall and then a spacious and lovely room from Emma and Steve. Even though the bed had been made up as a double because I got in a muddle when booking, they kindly saved my daughter from having to sleep with her wriggly mother by changing the bed into... More

The Alamo is a really comfortable, clean, quiet, warm, attractive and just generally great B&B in the West End of Glasgow. Ideally located for all the cafes/bars restaurants of the Woodlands and Byres Road areas, as well as a parks walk away from the Kelvingrove and Huntarian museums and galleries. Steve and Emma have done a great job with refurbing... More

Our stay at the Alamo was perfect. Emma, Steve, Flash (the cat) and their staff were very friendly and helpful. The suites are lovely. The location is adjacent to Kelvingrove Park with miles of walking trails and on the cycling route to Loch Lomond. The University of Glasgow and the Hunterian are just up the hill. There is easy access... More

We've been staying at the Alamo for the four years our son was at U of Glasgow and what we love most is the consistent high level of friendly service. Yes, the rooms are lovely and breakfast very nice, but the little touches like Tor, Emma, and Stephen always greeting us with a smile and asking about our son, and... More

We had a very good stay. The staff is very helpful and they have great restaurant recommendations. Our room was nice and very clean. Breakfast is perfect (Buffet) and served in a great room. The location is great, too. From the breakfast room you have a view to Glasgow University and a park. Restaurants are just around the corner and... More
