Just spent the night in the Clifton hotel.. Booked last minute on Lateroom for £49 for double B&B. Wasnt sure what to expect but was delighted with the location... right between Oran Mor and the Botanic gardens. Was ideal . The room was very nice , spacious and comfortable. Im not usually a fan of smaller hotels. But felt very... More

PROS Cheap at £49 for a double room with breakfast. Situated across from Oran Mor. Large room. Parking. Nice warm room. Comfortable bed. CONS Early breakfast. Carpet needed hoovering. Shower rail held up by hook. Hairs in the bath. Not much to complain about given the cheap £49 room and would definitely stay again due to its location close to... More

We booked this hotel as it is so close to Oran Mor. The hotel itself was not so bad - a bit dull and dreary, our room smelled of smoke, the cold tap wasn't working, shower a bit grubby, clean sheets but the thinnest of duvets on a freezing cold February night. All this we would have put up with for... More

Easy to find hotel, near train station, botanical gardens and close to city centre. We had a large bedroom with modern bathroom, flat screen tv , pleasantly surprised. Lovely and warm, free parking full breakfast included for a very reasonable £65 for 3 people. Chosen for location to SECC. Found staff pleasant and enjoyed stay.

I was looking for a hotel/guesthouse in the West End of Glasgow at extremely short notice for Hogmanay, and booked an ensuite room at the Clifton Hotel for a very reasonable £39. At that price, I wasn't expecting too much but I was pleasantly surprised when I checked into the room (Room 9), as it was extremely clean, well-furnished and... More

**NB: This review of 3 stars is given conditionally on the basis that staff customer service is improved. ** "The Clinton hotel" is a little misleading as a name for the type of facilities that are on offer. I would describe the Clinton as a good guest house (as it is listed by the AA guide and Visit Scotland) rather... More

This was our second trip to the Clifton and again we were in room 12. The room was very clean and spacious, it is front facing with single glazing so you do get traffic noise but it is to be expected in a City like Glasgow. Our radiator didn't work so we were freezing our first night but we soon... More

Nice guest house, its says it is a hotel but you cant call somewhere a hotel if theres no facilities/room to sit other than the room itself! The price is fair for the room, bathrooms modern and clean, room decent size but fairly basic which is what you would expect for that price. Towels were replaced next day which was... More

This hotel is great value for money, located ideally for the "west end", opposite Oran Mor at the top of Byres Road, no hesitation in using this hotel again.

First stop and only hotel during our 2 1/2 week Scotland road trip. Convenient location near Botanical Garden close to subway stop (just 4 stops from the center of Glasgow). (Limited) free parking available in the backyard (first come, first serve, no reservations). Free internet/wifi. Reception seemed a bit stressed, but fully answered all questions. Very large room & bathroom.... More
