I booked the hotel via internet for 2 nights. On arrival I was stunned to see the calibre of the accomodation. There was absolutely no similarity between the internet pictures and the accomdation presented to us.We could only stay in for 30 minutes. This hotel should be condemed and closed to the public. The public health authorities need to investigate... more

No complaints at all.. We stayed for 2 nights Friday and Saturday. We got a warm and helpful reception from Lorraine on our arrival she was at all times helpful and polite. Lorraine was our information centre for the weekend, if it had not been for her we would not have got to half the places we wanted to go.... more

No complaints. I stayed for 1 night. Sunday. I got a warm and helpful reception from Lorraine, who was at all times helpful and polite. I was especially impressed that she found a cell phone charger for me - I had left mine at home. Very nice touch. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. Maybe some of the... more

I guess there may be lovely rooms upstairs, but the basement room I was given was appalling. I was met with no sympathy when I asked for a change. To begin with the room is small, airless, noisy, gloomy (if you look up through the window the car park is in view), poorly fitted and badly maintained. I would say... more

We stayed here for three night and enjoyed it. Good location in West End, near Kelvingrove Park and next to Botanical Garden. The room was huge and bathroom so spacious that I have never seen in the UK. There is a small parking area behind the hotel and if you are lucky, you get a place for your car. Building... more

I stayed at the Clifton on two occasions within a two week period. It felt like coming home the second time. The charm of a bygone era was in the large rooms, ceiling mouldings and wrought iron balustrades of this terraced townhouse. Both rooms I occupied were clean, comfortable and quiet and the service provided by Cathy and her staff... more

My sister and I stayed at the Clifton and were very pleased with the friendly, helpful and courteous service and the very spacious, quiet and comfortable room and bathroom at the back of the hotel looking out on trees and gardens. An elevator would have been out of place but there was someone who kindly and promptly carried our cases... more

I stayed at this hotel with my parents. They had a very large, light and airy double room on the 2nd floor with views to the botanic gardens to the side. I had a dungeon like dark and dingy extremely small double room on the basement floor, with it's window located under the external steps up to the front door,... more

My wife and I stayed at the Clifton and it is a lovely friendly place but does have some jarring edges which are suprising this quality inspected day and age. The building itself is a lovely old building with winding staircase over 3 floors and lovely high ceilings, and huge bathrooms and bedrooms. Comfy clean bedrooms. Jarring edges is the... more
