Our room had a very loud tick every time someone in the hotel used the hot water, very annoying. Our TV made a crackling sound when switched on so in the end we didn't bother with it. The staff are friendly and helpful but the hotel is very dated and needs a lick of paint

Booked the Clifton for 1 night pury because all our usual haunts were fully booked! Weren't sure what to expect but when we got there the location was good- right across from Oran mor and botanic gardens and a quick walk to subway station to take you to city centre. Hotel had wee car park to the rear which at... More

This is a budget hotel located a bit far away from the city centre (approximately 45 minute walk to central Glasgow) but in the very lively West End area. There are heaps of pubs, restaurants and shops within a five minute walk of the hotel and the Botanical gardens are right across the road. There is also conveniently a bus... More

Very good accommodation - clean, comfortable, and helpful staff. Well cooked breakfast & convenient location. The only slight drawback is a lack of free parking, but it's possible to use metered parking nearby (if not the hotel's own, charged car park).

Had a one night stopover in Glasgow, so not wanting to break the bank, found the Clifton after being recommended to stay near the west end. Great little hotel, very reasonably priced. I think the cavernous rooms may be a little on the chilly side in winter, particularly the bathroom. The staff were great, we showed up late for breakfast... More

Myself, my husband and my 13 year stayed here for 3 nights and it was the perfect base for our short trip to Scotland. It's quite basic but clean and comfortable and the staff are really nice and welcoming and helpful. We were allowed to leave our bags there for some time before check in and check out which was... I enjoyed my first visit to the Clifton Hotel which we booked as we were going to a Paulo Nutini concert last year. We had tried to book the usual hotels such as travelodge, premier inn but they were very expensive. We came across the Clifton and did not expect much but my expectations were exceeded especially on my 2nd... More

We stayed at Clifton Hotel for two nights and enjoyed the cosy family room and the ideal location for exploring Glasgow. Situated next to the Botanic Gardens, there is also a bus stop for a sightseeing tour. Also, there was parking available behind the hotel. The bathroom was quite narrow, but clean and modern. Breakfast was the only disappointment; the... More

We went to Glasgow for a family wedding. Having never been there before I looked at all the options of places to stay near the reception . I soon started to realize that even Travelodge was very expensive, but to be fair we are not great lovers of that type of accommodation anyway. The Clifton Hotel turned out to be... More
