The owner was very hospitable as my 3 friends and I needed beds the same night when prior plans fell through, he was also kind enough to help us up the stairs with all our bags. The building is absolutely beautiful and in a lovely area, we had some very picturesque walks. Very comfy sleeps as it was just the... More

Really expensive for terrible facilities, poor bathrooms, kitchen and no included breakfast. You only get WiFi in the one common room. Bad location (up a giant hill) average beds. Would NOT recommend. Had a horrible experience with the tiny showers, only cold water!!!

I stayed in this hostel for one night in October 2014. I chose it because it was close to the university where I was attending an event. I’m unlikely to stay again. My very first impressions were fantastic: Mr. Bunkum opened the door and greeted me by name in a very friendly manner. I was happy that this was where... More

rooms were clean enough but my sheets were somewhat dirty, the bed was uncomfortable, there were essentially transparent curtains in the dorm (it had big windows) so very light in the mornings, right next to a rather busy road so quite noisy and the wifi was average. moreover the guy working here refused to print more than one page for... This Hostel is independent and located in the West End of Glasgow. Travel connections are excellent with buses, subway and trains within easy reach. Accommodation is in the usual dormitory type rooms and the beds are clean and comfortable. The facilities are good and satisfied my needs. Kitchen, laundry and sitting room were very good. The owners were friendly, helpful... More

I have stayed here a few times over the last two years. The location is excellent. Its right in the hub of the West End and less than a five minuet walk to the famous Byers road and Ashton lane where there is a wealth of great restaurants, bars and shops. The value is excellent especially as it is based... More

Absolute bargain. Beautiful building and spacious dorms. The communal living room was extremely cosy and the kitchen very clean and tidy. Run by a very friendly gentleman who helped us with our heavy bags when we arrived, very much welcomed as we had cycled a long way and were both exhausted. For £12 a night I would highly recommend Bunkum.

I stayed here for two weeks and admittedly became a little too comfortable. It's an old house, so the rooms are big but cosy. Great common area, and the kitchen and bathrooms are kept in great condition. The owners were friendly and, again, made me feel right at home. You're just near Byres Rd and the West End's wonderful selection... More

The hostel is OK and seemed to be one of cleanest out of the four that I've been in Scotland this Summer. The problem there was definetly the location, which was close to the University and other interesting places (Botanic Gardens, museums...), but really far from the city center, that in my opinion is more lively. Ohh, and it is... More

This is the worst hostel i have experienced and one of the worst nights of my life. The filth, bugs, moths and cut off toe nails on the floor was bad enough, but on top of this the bed was so squicky, one could not move at all without waking up. It was miserable. The wifi didnt work, the kitchen... More
