Myself & the chap stayed here for one midweek night (Tuesday) as a budget-friendly bed for the night when attending a gig in Glasgow. He'd booked it so I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised! We had a private room (£28 in total) which was perfectly adequate for what we needed - Clean bedding, clean towels, hot... I realize that I cannot directly compare a hostel with a hotel. Still I expect it to be clean and friendly. Neither was the case. It would be ok to stay for a night is you just need a place to sleep and would pay 20 to 30 pounds per person. In any other case I'd keep looking for another... More

Hi everyone, I booked a room for the Saturday night in Glasgow at the euro hostel. The room cost me 100 Pounds on arrival. The beds weren't made and the shower was dirty and stunk of Mildue. The lifts don't work in the building and as I was on the 7 floor I had to wait on occasion 10 to... More

It felt like a night in prison for which we even had to pay for (100£ for a private room). The room was filthy, furniture old, shower too small... No sound isolation between rooms, very noisy. Would never stay there again! Only good thing: the hostel is located right next to Glasgows main shopping area

This is the first hostel I have stayed in ( I am 48 ) . I wanted somewhere cheap to stay with my daughter and thought I would try a hostel as I knew we would be spending very little time there . I booked a private twin room . We had bunk beds which were fine . The bathroom... More

If you're looking for chic, boutique or luxury this is not the place for you, but if you want a bargain priced stay right in the city centre then this is it. It's only a few hundred metres from Glasgow Central Station which was ideal for me as that was my arrival and departure station. The Euro Hostel is no... More

Showers are unbelievably bad, the water pressure hurts your body, the fan doesn't work so you almost pass out from the steam and lack of air in there! The shower flooded on our first night, when we complained to reception about it, they were very rude and gave us towels to clean it up ourselves! The staff are unfriendly and... More

Stayed during CWG 2014 in 4 bed dorm. Room is spacious and bed was comfortable. only drawbacks were no wifi in the room and limited number of sockets for charging in room.biggest advantage of place being location and ease of walking from bus stand and George square.

I've stayed here twice now for gigs at the SECC and the Hydro. Both stays have been very pleasant. The hostel is within walking distance of the venues (around 30 minutes) and close to the train station. There is also a great discount on the nearby indoor car park when you stay at the hostel. The restaurant has some good... More

We stayed here for one night during the commonwealth games in a private 4 bed room, myself and my parents. We had 4 bunk beds with extremely uncomfortable mattresses, lumpy pillows and duvets on all beds. No WIFI in the room, only in the bar downstairs which seems to constantly play loud music. The rooms were reasonably clean although a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Why pay more than you have to? You're in town to explore the city, or to go shopping, catch up with friends, maybe see a band, or go to the football, not to spend time in an expensive hotel room. We can offer you most of what the big hotel chains do anyway.... Just with twice the fun and half the price. We have comfortable 1-14 shared single gender dorms, family rooms and disabled rooms, all with en-suite facilities, fresh linen and lockers for secure storage. We have a great bar, Mint & Lime, with cheap prices and daily specials, FREE wi-fi available throughout the hostel. During the day we're showing your favourite sporting events and at night we party with guest DJ's or live bands. All our twin rooms have TV's. We have a guest kitchen to cook your own meals and save a bundle, one TV room with huge TV, chill-out room, secure luggage and bike store, Internet access, towel hire or purchase and a guest laundry. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, we've got that too... Pool tables and a very late liquor license for guests! We welcome groups of all sizes throughout the year and make an ideal choice for sports teams, concertgoers and stag and hen parties. There's plenty of room for the late-night party animals to continue the night without disturbing the peace of other guests. Our staff can organise all of your group adventure activities and tours. Euro Hostel Glasgow is our flagship property and we are very proud of it. It's clean, safe, and friendly and loads of fun. All the rooms are on the higher floors, so when it's bedtime, it's quiet too. Not only do you enjoy cheap accommodation, but because we're right in the city, you save those cab fares as well. We are raising the level within the hostel market so come and see for yourself what all the talk about Euro Hostels is for. *Please note that check in time is at 3PM!* ... more   less
