Stayed here for one night as we were seeing a show close by at the Hydro. Arrived about 1.30pm and tried to check in early so that we could relax and enjoy our day but we were told that 3pm was the earliest. However, the receptionist was very helpful and allowed us to park our car in the car park... More

paid a small fortune for a shockingly basic room. The reception area was outdated and the staff weren't exactly helpful. We didn't use the lift as it sounded creaky and we were scared we'd get stuck, in the end it was a good job as it was full of laundry and a staff member unwilling to get out so paying... More

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is an absolute shambles just like all the rest of the reviews on here say. All the electronics haven't been tested since 2012, damp and mouldy ceilings, the kettle takes a decade to boil, bathroom floor tiles are cracked, shower is extremely noisy and barely works, not to mention the safe provided... The hotel is undergoing an refurb, so there were some workman's vans taking up spaces and there was no disabled parking. I had advised the hotel that we needed disabled access, and when we arrived at the hotel we had to carry my husband up several stairs as there was no ramp. However, we were then advised that there was... More

We literally needed somewhere for our heads for one night and I'm so glad we stayed here in the respect that it was the comfiest beds I've ever slept in and had a fab night's sleep. Also the two female receptionists who helped direct us to the hotel as we were super lost, and one of them had to put... More

This place is in need of a complete makeover the staff are always at loggerheads with each other, broken floor tiles on entrance nearly fell ,noticed plasterwork patches in food area above door, daughter was bullying her father more like a scene from faulty towers this place is suited for labourers digging the roads ,and the government gives them grants I'm in... The staff were very helpful, rooms were tidy and well kept and breakfasts were substantial. The Devoncove is also very close to town and to major routes for travelling on from Glasgow. Being dog friendly was great also. Also the hotel is on the spot for good restaurants, and pubs. Check out the Ben Nevis if you want to sample... More

Worst hotel ever. Had to stay one night in damp subterranean room as alternative wasn't available. Spent the night with a handkerchief over my nose as smell of damp was overwhelming. It was hard to relax and i didn't sleep well. The basin was badly cracked. In my opinion the room was not fit for human habitation. Budget shouldn't mean... More

The room was £50 a night (for a double including breakfast) and you do get what you pay for. We were on the lower ground floor and the room was pretty dingey and in desperate need of a refurb (I moved a chair and two drawer fronts fell off, they were being held in place by the chair - that... More

Enjoyed one night here....staff very efficient, room spotless and spacious, breakfast totally fine. For £65 this hotel totally lived up to expectations and I would def return. It's not fancy but negative reviews unjust.
