We stayed at Silverwells Guest House and really loved it. The house is gorgeous and well kept. The room was very clean and cute and not at all old lady style. The bathroom was very modern and recently remodeled. We had a great view out the front of the house of the Ness river and the iron bridge over it. Pretty sunset from there too. The breakfast was very very good with some lighter choices (two weeks of full Scottish breakfasts could kill you). Great location too, we walked down to the city center to have dinner and went to a good pub "The Hootenanny" where we heard some great music. I would highly recommend Silverwells. more

Booked into the Silverwells Guest House at the last minute when all previously recommended B&B's on this site proved to be full. It is situated on Ness Bank, a short walk from the town centre, and overlooks the river. Ness Bank is home to the Glenmoriston hotel and other B&B's mentioned on this site and is a really good location. There is plenty of free parking.

The building is a lovely early 19th century villa and is furnished in a tasteful and relaxed style (no chintz borders or dusty old pot pourri). Our room, a twin with ensuite, which all rooms have, was light and airy, clean and fresh, with crisp cotton linen. The hostess is very friendly and cooks a lovely full Scottish breakfast which you take in the relaxed and casual dining room which has stripped wooden floors (not to mention proper tablecloths).

Can't recommend highly enough - this stay cost £65 for the room inc b'fast, whereas last year's stay a few doors down in the Glenmoriston, was over £160...
