This is a lovely old building a little bit rough round the edges but the staff are great. The rooms are clean and comfortable maybe a little dated but the location is handy for everything. You are a 5 minute walk to shops bars restaurants and the Clydebank on a sunny day. All in all I'd stay again.

Stayed here for a weekend during the Commonwealth Games as it was pretty much the only hotel I could get. After the mixed reviews on here I was nervous, but we had a great stay. The price however was ridiculous, as were all hotels in Glasgow over the Games!! I do not want to think about how much we paid... More

First impression was an average hotel. Good location as very close to the central station and city centre. Room was generally pretty clean apart from one dirty towel. Had quite a lot of noise from the street below. The beds were comfortable. Suited us for a bed for the night.

Some of the reviews are terrible, but I thought this place was not bad at all. I wouldn't say 'Very good' but if there was a 'Good' option I'd choose that. We stayed as part of a group for a stag weekend. I think some rooms maybe have had a refurb. The twin I was in was very nice and... More

This hotel was one of the only ones left due to commonwealth games on. I was away on business and stay in many hotels each month. This was the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The whole and hotel and room was in desperate need of a refurb. From the minute I checked in and saw the lift and... More

When we arrived outside I was really disappointed, however our room was huge with a big that was at least a super king. 42" tv, sofa and still enough room to have had a party. It was very clean and the en-suite again was very large, clean and modern.Breakfast was good, serve yourself buffet but plenty of choice and all piping hot, Yes... We spent 2 nights in 2 rooms at the Alexander Thompson Hotel. It is very cent falling located, 100 m from the Central Station on Argyle Street. Below the hotel is a noisy pub that has a singer on a Thursday night. One room was on the third floor with a huge bay window, double bed and sofa above this... More

They only downside the hotel has loud noise coming from outside not really thier fault but could do with new widows to help cut down on noise but i would stay thier again... More

We booked this for two nights to go to the Commonwealth Games. We paid over £400 for rooms that normally charge £90 per night. It is a short walk to both the rail and tube stations, that was why we used it. The hotel has tried to upgrade but on a tight budget so very basic and a bit grubby.... More

I was booked for 2 days but one was enough ! As it was during the Commonwealth games, prices had been increased understandably. But £197 for 2 nights seemed very poor value. It's located in a neglected part of town but minutes walk into city centre. It was dismal and dingy, the bed was the most uncomfortable I had slept... More
