I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now and have never been disappointed. This is supposed to be a budget hotel and yet the rooms and service are really excellent. Comfortable, clean and better than you would ever expect. On top of this the breakfasts are great with lots of choice and as much as you want. Being so... More

The best thing is their localisation just few steps from Railway/Busstation and close to the center. There is a lot of bars, cafes and restaurants in the nearby. The fornt desk staff were polite and friendly. My room was quite spacious and clean, but a little bit outdated. The bathroom wasn't in great shape too. In there night it was... More

This hotel definately shows it's age. Room was dated, as were the hallways in the section of the hotel we stayed in. But the bathroom was ultra modern! Reception area on second floor is much nicer than the entrance on the first floor. Nice breakfast buffet. Good location near central station

I stayed here for one night last month and the hotel was just what I needed. Central location made it easy for getting out and about. The staff were definitely the highlight, very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The room was pleasant enough and clean. I would use this hotel again in future.

We needed a quick trip over to Glasgow for a Commonwealth Games interview. In an effort to save cash I decided to get a train over from Aberdeen and chose a cheaper hotel than usual. I had heard of the Alexander Thompson hotel and roughly knew where it was, very central, walking distance from the Museum of Modern Art, Central... More

We stayed for 3 nights and spent very little time in the hotel and therefore it was just what we needed. The hotel is very tired although we stayed in one of the refurbished wings on the 3rd floor which was fairly good. However, the walls are paper thin and there is a lot of noise from the street which... More

The exterior of the hotel was not good. Sandwiched between a derelict building and a guitar shop. The front door was missing a panel, and the reception area was tiny. The rooms were clean, large and the beds were comfortable. The tea and coffee allowance was average. The breakfast was buffet style, plentiful and hot. The bar was a reasonable... More

I stayed here for one evening during April....it was quite pleasant although at the lower end of hotels in Glasgow....a bit dated, noisy road outside.....I will know next time. I asked the Polish girl on reception who actually was Alexander Thomson; I was given a blank look...before I left in the morning I also asked the Asian receptionist who was... More

Had booked 2 nights here. On check in the receptionist insisted on taking payment immediately. We should have seen the warning sign ! Positives. - The private lounge area was quite plush in a traditional style - The bed was clean and reasonably comfy - We were given a discount for the multi storey car park Negatives. - Rude, unattentive,...
