My wife and I were here for four nights in February 2015. The rooms are partly renovated, nice and and clean. The breakfast is OK if you like English breakfast. The staff was friendly, especially housekeeping. One problem: there was not sufficient hot water for the showers in the morning..

Booked the Alexander Thomson for a Saturday night stay in Glasgow city centre. Reviews were mixed, some had been poor however no complaints whatsoever. Check-in took thirty seconds. Room was on fifth floor but the lift was fine. Room was very spacious with large bed, bathroom also fine. Hairdryer, Iron and ironing board provided, Everything neat and clean, (not even... More

We had decided to spend two days in Glasgow as an afterthought and looked for some bargains on Booking.com - There were some fabulous bargains all over the country including £50 per night at the green Hotel Kinross - antway we tracked down some bargain prices and read some reviews and elected to stay at the Alexander Thomson in Glasgow... My husband & I stayed in this hotel for 1 night on 23rd feb 2015. It only cost us £39, what a nice surprise we got on arrival. The room was very clean and spacious, basic but had everything we needed. The beds were very comfy. The breakfast was very good with a selection of cereals, pastries and a plentiful... More

Room 101? Really. My first reaction was at least its clean and warm. The bathroom in particular was below standard. Nylon Shower curtain? Our friends were in 223. They for the same money had a much better room. On a positive. Toiletries, Hairdryer, Tea coffee and water and breakfast was good.

On arrival the staff were very friendly, and calm(16 tipsy women in a small reception area) Our rooms were small but neat and tidy, had everything we needed. Only thing that had us confused was, why are the toilets so high?! The breakfast was beautiful, so much choice. Really enjoyed our stay and would definately stay here again.

Stayed here with friends whilst up for a night out in Glasgow. Booked 2 rooms for 6 of us, which split was about £27 each. My room which was the bigger of the two, was huge! Two large double beds, a single bed, two couches, coffee table, tv and still loads of room to get about. All six of us... More
