In previous reviews read some cautionary tales but the hotel was fine. Great location, staff attentive. There was a posted recommendation to get a room in the back of the hotel due to noise from the plaza but they must have added storm windows because you couldn't hear a sound and the view was good. Furnishings could use an upgrade... More

We booked this hotel as a 'top secret' deal on lastminute.com and were not disappointed. The location was ideal for a brief weekend away. We were within easy walking distance of many restaurants, shops and the Gallery of Modern Art. Our room had a view over George Square which was great and was reasonably spacious. Unfortunately there was no hot... More

I travel to Glasgow on a regular basis on business. Not sure what took me to book this hotel, but was really pleased that I did. Excellent staff, great rooms. Just what is needed after a long day or long journey Will definately be keeping an eye open for this hotel in the future.

We have recently returned from a tour around Scotland with a Tour group. We paid for an extra night's stay before the tour and dinner that night was lovely. As soon as we dined as a group the standard and choice dropped I'm sad to say. Our room was an eye opener. We were put into a room at the... More

There's a great Scottish phrase that sums up this hotel perfectly: 'All fur coat and nae knickers!' While the hotel certainly LOOKS very impressive from the outside and the communal reception area looked good, the service I received and the quality of my room were sadly lacking. As a disclaimer, I should mention that I've previously worked in hotels, so... More

Booked this hotel by chance for a trip to Glasgow to see Dancing On Ice show at the SECC. Wasnt exactly sure where it was but it was in a fab location. We walked from Central Station to the hotel within about 7 minutes, which was also easy at the night for a train to the SECC. The shops of... More

We stayed here for two nights in April and were pleasantly surprised. Our room was small but clean (and rather quaint with its antique-style furnishings) and it was lovely looking out over George Square. The location is great – right next door to Queen Street train station and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and... More

After reading previous reviews, we were a little apprehensive as we had already booked but this was unfounded as we found the hotel worthy of the 4* rating. We were upgraded to a 'club room' facing George Square, and weren't disturbed by noise as the room had secondary glazing. We had the hot buffet breakfast - choice wasn't extensive, but... More

12 of us spent 3 nights here for Celtic Connections Festival in Jan 2012. Paid for larger rooms / small suites - excellent value, cheaper than some competitors standard rooms and quality excellent for the price. Hotel doesn't look the greatest from outside and public areas are limited and in need of refurb. However don't be put off, great beds,... More

Very helpful staff on reception - great rooms, nice breakfast (not everything on the card was on the menu) and waiting staff were lovely. Room service a bit unappetizing and some items unavailable that should have been. Great room quality - partic. in club rooms. Would have liked firmer pillows or memory foam.
