This is the dirtiest accomadation i have ever had the misfortune to set foot in the whole place was filthy and that includes the man at reception, icannot enpisize enough how unhygenic this place is and it should be closed down with immediate effect before someone contracts a disease from it from top to toe the wholeplace is scruffy. On arrival we had to climb the steps at the front of hotel which is difficult when carrying a heavy suitcase, and the further up you go there is no handrail- very dangerous. This was made worse by an employee standing at top of steps who didn't move or offer to help. i was then given a double room instead... more

Stayed for one night with my partner for a gig in glasgow. Close to city cente, shops, restaurants within walking distance. Quiet little hotel that did the job: was clean enough, although looked like it could do with a lick of paint but the room was spacious enough and the bathroom was a decent size. Maybe a bit pricy for... more

The Victorian House was listed in the offical accomodation guide sent out by the Glasgow Tourist Office, it looked fine in the brochure so I booked 1 night and that was 1 too many, this was listed as a 3 star 'lodge' with '60 individually styled bedrooms ' and a 'conservatory breakfast room' the breakfast room was NOT a conservatory,... more

We were very disappointed with this "hotel". Our room was a long climb up many flights of stairs (no lift). Carpet and walls grubby, bedcovers none too clean, the room had a general air of neglect. We thought that this was bad, but then we saw the bathroom. Neither of us wanted to share the shower with the various species... more

As others have said the lady on reception was very abrupt. I had to pay on arrival, something I've never been asked to do before. The room was in the basement and was VERY tired. The bathroom shower area had broken tiles and covered in mould. The staff were so intimidating I wouldn't have complained. Had we not been very... more

We found this hotel via the internet, showing a 3 star rating. The room we had was awful. Shabby bedding and furniture, mould to shower and ceiling. Dreadful decoration. There were 66 stairs to our room from reception and 27 up to reception from the road. We were never asked if we were disabled or in need of help to... more

I have just returned from Glasgow where i spent a couple of days in the Victorian House hotel. I had read the reviews before i booked and it sounded ok. However my experience was somewhat disappointing . Firstly i found the reception staff and i guess the owners are all Asians. I am not racist but i was hoping to... more
