I stayed alongside 2 others for 1 night on a Sunday in December. Paid £65 for 1 room with a double and single bed. Room was very dark but clean and bathroom spotless! Found the room very warm over night but cold in the morning. We were in room 204 which was on the side street across from what we... More

I needed a room for an overnight stay after a Christmas night out with friends. Central hotels at this time of year are expensive so to find this hotel at a great price was ideal.Interesting old building. The spiral staircase is challenging with luggage and I was only one flight up but a nice young gentleman on reception carried my... More

Twice I have stayed at the Merchant City and twice its been great! Close to the shops and the station. Paid under £50 for a nights bed and breakfast which was much less than everything else that was on offer. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable (slept all night like a log). Plenty space in the cupboard for... More

Stayed at this hotel in early November for one night and it was good for the price we paid. The check in process was easy and the people pleasant enough. We had a room on the 4th floor which was good but my girlfriend had said the previous time she had stayed that the room she had gotten on the... More

This unique little hotel is a far cry from the usual chain hotels. Bare polished wooden floors and windows that open more than 2 inches! Original building that has been transformed into a cosy contemporary little hideaway. If you want to be in glasgow city centre and are on a budget this hotel is a good choice. Rooms are basic... The best bit about this 'hotel' (no bar, no lounge, no lift) was the staff - they were delightful and as friendly and helpful as any hotel staff I've encountered. Our room was perfectly adequate, but the downside was that it looked onto the Polo Club in Wilson Street and, when that started to empty between 2 and 4 a.m.,... More

This beautiful little hotel is in the heart of Glasgow has a really friendly staff. I am surprised it is so cheap (if booked well in advance) as it is in the city centre. Because of that, there is a bit of noise from the street, but it didn't bother me that much. Basic continental breakfast included and you can... More

It looked great on the internet but we were put out of the main building, to walk behind and up lots and lots of stairs. The room itself was nice but small and the TV a bit on the old side and not easy to use. We also had to hand the key in every time we left? Wont go... More

4 flights of stairs to get to room (no lift), not a massive issue, i have legs but its not exactly a good start. Get into hotel room which absolutely stinks of smoke. Hotel staff seemed not to care and did not offer a replacement room. Room was also extremely poorly lit (almost bizarrely so, ive never seen a hotel... More

I was an AMerican living in Scotland for several years and have some words for Americans travelling to Glasgow and considering hotels like this. This place is typical of the Glasgow city centre, you have to pay a lot more to go up significantly in quality. This is going to be a lot worse than what any American has had... More
