Great location near to hydro, secc & city centre. Rooms just refurbished, very comfortable and clean, towels changed as often as you require. Breakfast vast choice and good value for money. Staff very attentive and helpful, nothing is too much bother, always happy to assist you. Manager extremely accommodating and helpful, always on or around premises. We have stayed in... More

Stayed here last night after the Lady Gaga concert, due to the closer Campanile being too expensive, we had a double room down in the basement, the hallway in the evening smelt like a toilet but smelt better the next morning. The room was really hot despite no heating on, so opened the window for an hour or so. The... More

Was a bit pensive about staying here having read other reviews. However whilst room was small with no wardrobe space it was clean and comfortable. Room I was in was on ground floor at rear of property and therefore no noise problems given guest house is on very busy Sauchiehall Street. Booked room only as plenty of local cafes for... More

We had one night here for an SECC event. Our room was downstairs at rear looking onto wee square, which was probably good for minimising traffic noise from Sauchihall St. Room was small but comfortable and clean with all the basics including TV and tea/coffee. Bathroom also small but clean and nice towels (after we had to ask for them),... More

Paid £65 for a double room on a weekday night through booking.com. The room and guest house in general were what we expected. Budget facilities but clean and everything you need for short stay. Bed was comfy enough although the pillows were quite hard. Basic toiletries supplied and lots of soft white towells. Nice girl on reception when we arrived.... More

Glasgow was busy when we wanted to go as it was the weekend after the referendum vote. The argyll guest house was not a good place to stay. Check in and all facilities are over a busy main road in the Argyll Hotel. The receptionist was incredibly helpful as wee needed to have so e information of public transport which... More

My wife and I booked this guest house in December 2013 , On arrival Sunday the 24/8/2014 ,8 months later we went to book in to the sister hotel across the road ,in front of other guests ,only to be told that our booking was cancelled! Allegedly by Booking . Com ? Who only sent us an email the week... More

Be aware of a difference between Argyll Hotel and Argyll Guesthouse across the road. Both are the same company. We were in the guesthouse, the WiFi was poor, room booked for a couple had two single beds, the rooms slightly smelt and light poured in through the curtains. The room was mostly clean and in a good location but the... More

Stayed three nights in early July 2014 whilst attending Conference nearby. Spacious room downstairs across the road in Guest House. Other members of family stayed in Hotel upstairs. All rooms very good, with good bathroom facilities. Breakfast facilities plentiful. Car parking sorted out on street for first few hours and then in car park for a few days, which was... More

I know Glasgow very well, so I knew this hotel's location was good for Kelvingrove & the West End. I had never stayed at the Argyll before and would normally choose a higher grade of accommodation, but it was a last minute booking and I got a great rate. I was travelling alone and stayed for one weekend night at... More
