I had the mis fortune of booking a room at this guest house 2 weeks ago on a visit to Glasgow. First impressions of the Guest House were excellent, the staff are friendly, infact, they are lovely - on entry to my room, I was surprised by how dirty it was. I'd booked the room on LateRooms, it was a... more

It really is good value for money and I have to say that as its only three stars it really delivers, I wouldn't expect anything amazing out of a three star place anywhere. Comfy bed and safe room with coffee and tea... and a bath!! Couldnt ask for more. more

Glasgow was in transit, so only spent one night in the Argyll Guest House. Demanding people does not recommend a small, cold rooms, with windows vista in the next room. Ragged-fringed carpets, oppressive, narrow window with a long corridor leading to the rooms. The room carpet was dirty in some old curtains hanging in the bathroom window. The aforementioned poor... more

Spent a day there with friends. Everything went wrong, firstly we were asked to come back an hour later prior to check in, to make sure that the rooms are cleaned. After giving them extra time, arriving back, they gave us the wrong room. Booked for a double room, and we got a cold room with three single beds. Went... more

We took the #905 bus from Paisley Airport to the corner of Derby and Sachiehall St. and from there the Argyll was less than a block away. The staff is pleasant and helpfull and there is a lift available to bring your luggage upstairs. We found the room clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The city centre is a reaonable walking... more

Whist we cannot fault the cleanliness of the bed linen and floor to the bedroom, we would like to bring a number of other issues to the attention of potential customers. Despite using the label ‘Hotel’ on numerous occasions, the accommodation on offer falls short of basic hygiene standards found in most B&B’s. In addition, their website claims the accommodation... more

Although the Tourist Centre B&B map for Glasgow locates the guesthouse within a 5 minute walk from the center, the actual location of the guesthouse is not there at all! It's about 25 minutes walk to the main areas. Probably that's why it took us more than half an hour to find the place. Once inside, there was a terrible... more

For the price we paid for the room, we were pleasantly suprised when we arrived. The Argyll Guesthouse (formerly the Angus Guesthouse) is the "sister" property of the Argyll Hotel, which is located directly across the street. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed/bedding. I enjoyed having a bathtub, which was a rarity in the budget accomodations we... more

The Angus is a very good bargain for the money. It's not the Ritz, but the rooms are clean and tastefully decorated. Location is next to a university and the center of town is a good 20 minute walk down Sauciehall St., though public transportation and taxis are easily available. A couple of things about the rooms: as you would... more
