I would highly recommend this hotel - very clean, lovely rooms + shower, very welcoming and helpful staff, the place felt very homely and very laid back atmosphere. The staff had also put on some mulled wine + mince pies to help yourself to (amazing) also the homemade cupcakes were lovely too.

This is a strange hotel to review because there are lots of positives but lots of negatives too. On the plus side, the hotel is in a very convenient location for arriving/departing at Central station. The beds were very comfortable and there is Sky in each room. The hotel also offered complimentary mince pies and mulled wine, which was a... More

What an absolute gem, hidden in the heart of the city. Great decor, complimentary mince pies, mulled wine, cupcakes were major yays! Great breakkie. When I needed some emergency "supplies" staff were happy to help. Only down sides were street noise and the fact that the bathroom is not particularly private as it was freestanding and opened right by the... More

Having never heard of this hotel and on reading the reviews I was intrigued to find out how good it was, and it did not disappoint. One we found the entrance pressed the button and ascended the stairs we were pleasantly surprised, a friendly welcome and we were shown round the the facilities. Our double room was not big but... Grasshoppers is right above one of the two major train stations. It occupies the sixth floor of an office building in the heart of the commercial and retail district. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and breakfast was hearty. View from rooms on the back side are of the remarkable glass train shed over the tracks.

Right in the city centre, above Central Station. Clean, light and bright. Pared down to an extent, the facilities focus on the important things, a great bed, a fabulous shower and a good breakfast. In addition (joy of joys) windows that you can open and real milk in the room for your tea. Ask for hairdryers, irons and hanging rails... More

If you're looking for somewhere central with a bed and a (very good) breakfast, then this should do. If you want somewhere where you can people watch or engage with other guests, then not so much. You enter from a door in Union Street, take an elevator to the 5th floor, and suddenly you're there. But no one else seems... More

As my taxi pulled up outside the entrance of the hotel I wasn't sure. I walked into what seemed like a business centre and ascended in the grubby elevator to the 6th floor. The doors opened and I was in luxury. I was greeted by a very friend receptionist who gave myself and an American visitor a tour of the... More

This was such a great find and one of the best hotels I have stayed in Glasgow. We stayed for 2 nights as we were going to Jools Holland concert with friends. Rooms were so modern, clean, the bed was very comfortable with egyptian cotton bedding. All the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was... More
