Spent one night here. We had a double room in the basement at the front of the hotel. The room was compact, clean, warm and had all we needed. The bed was firm (which I like) and contributed to a good night's sleep. There was some noise from passers by but nothing too excessive. We were welcomed by Iain who... More

We stayed here for an overnighter - great hotel, the room we had was clean and quiet. Iain on front desk was very good and helpful and great knowledge of the bars and restaurants around the hotel. He even allowed us to leave our bags while we went on a wee shopping spree after we checked out.

Parking, the lamp posts have signs telling you not to park, the ticket machine tells you not to park, 20ft large rectangular box with 3ft high letters (no parking, loading only). The traffic wardens would have let you park for about 10 minutes to unload suitcases which the duty manager told you, not 13 hours. The use of loading bays... More

Not especially clean, beds not changed during a 5 night stay, staff very defensive when we raised issues, poor attention to detail in the rooms (especially with regards to cleaning). For example, towels were changed every day when left on the rail (even though there was a clear sign that said leave on the racks to reuse and place on... More

We are disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay with us, the sheets on the bed are changed after every guest check out of the hotel, if the guest is staying for a period of time then the sheets are changed every 7 days.It was Marlene who was on duty during your stay and she changed the table lamp... Stayed at the Kelvingrove for 11 nights on a works contract. The hotel was quiet, the rooms always clean. Iain very helpful and chatty as was the other staff. The hotel is situated well next to a few good bars and eating places for night time entertainment. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is a 15/20 minute walk down Sauchiehall St to Buchanan St where there is a Visit Scotland tourist info office and many shops and cafés. Ian and Marlene were very friendly and helpful, and gave us info about the area and public transport. The food served for breakfast was decent value for the cost. The beds were short... More

Lovely staff, very convenient for the Hydro and although we were moved due to the first room being unclean (bathroom floor/shower was covered in hair and tooth mug had toothpaste in it) I'm afraid I wouldn't stay here again or recommend staying here. The second room was better but still not 100% clean, still dusty/hairy corners in the bathroom, dusty... More

Firstly thank you very much for your comments. We were disappointed that you found 3 hairs and a smudge of toothpaste on your tumbler, our duty manager apologises for this as instead of moving you rooms she should have picked up the hairs and replaced your tumbler, all of this would have taken 1-2 minutes and would have saved you... Stay here frequently for work. The hotel is welcoming and the rooms are spacious and always clean. Iain always bends over backwards to make sure everything is spot on and nothing is ever too much hassle for him. Great for an overnighter or a longer stay and there is plenty of bars and restaurants round about.

Looked appealing from the internet, paid around £70 without breakfast for 2 in one room. Good location near the park. Big room. However, awkward getting heavy bags down stairs, No lift to basement. Just one public room mainly for breakfast it seemed (don't know if there was a small bar?) and small reception. Bathroom had noisy 'macerator' which could be... More

Thank you for your comments. We are in a great location for visitors to Glasgow. Some of the rooms in the hotel are fitted with Saniflo type toilets and they do make a noise for a very short time.. There is always someone on duty to help with luggage etc. More

After booking this hotel for new year for 2 nights on arrival the hotel looked beautiful and receptionist Iain couldn't of been nicer. We were put in what looked like the basement and the room was freezing. As we were going out we left the heating on in the hope when we got back it would be warm. Woke up... More

We are sorry about the hot water issue this was due to the fact that 55 guests showered before departure leaving no hot water left for any guests that were staying. The owner did offer you a taxi to another hotel to shower in, your money back and asked if you could wait for 30 minutes while we boosted the... More
