Our first stop in Scotland. We arrived very early and our host, George, was kind enough to allow us to leave our luggage at the hotel and go exploring until check-in time at 1:30 PM. The lack of a lift and stairs made getting to our street-level room a bit awkward, given my bad knees, and the room tended to... More

We stayed one night 75 pounds, (no breakfast) Aug. 15, 2014. This is not the cosy, friendly hotel that we stayed at a number of years ago. If the management thinks the guests will not miss a clock, hotel directory, tissues then they are wrong. The room was fine but the carpet had not been vacuumed prior to our arrival.... More

We no longer have clocks in the rooms as there is a clock on the television. We do provide tissues, which are to be found in a silver holder on the desk, if you had found this empty on arrival you would have been very welcome to report it to reception and they would have provided them instantly, the same... Really lovely guest house. It's at the very top end of sauchiehall street so bit of a dander down the road to get to bars restaurants and Buchanan galleries but nothing too extreme! The staff couldn't have been any nicer or helpful! Beds were unbelievably comfortable and lovely spacious room! Shower was lovely and all spotless except for a glass... More

I stayed in Room 25 which had a pleasant rear garden view. The room itself was large enough and the bedding was fresh and clean. Wifi no problem at all - I was able to listen to digital radio without any interruption. Breakfast was fine too. The one black spot was the bathroom which a) had an ill-fitting toilet seat... More

I am sorry that the condition of the bathroom spoiled what was otherwise a good stay with us, we are currently in the middle of an upgrade programme for the bathrooms, however this has had to be suspended for the moment as we have been far too busy both during and after the Commonwealth Games, we will continue as soon... I normally stay closer to Ibrox but all the hotels were fully booked last weekend. The Kelvingrove was a really great place to stay. The Gent on reception could not have been more helpful and sorted me a cheap parking pass for the whole weekend. The room was spacious warm and comfortable. I would definately stay here again. Thankyou !

This hotel seems to get reasonable reviews, however our experience was far from pleasant. On our first night the hotel had no hot water after 10pm, no wifi and no television. Returning after an evening walk in summer and being deprived of a shower made for a very unpleasant stay. Added to this no wifi, no TV and our misery... More

We are sorry you experienced problems during your stay at the Kelvingrove, unfortunately we did have a problem with the TV aerials at one point, it was not something that could be fixed instantly as there are several around the building and a new access point had to be created. The wifi is not normally a problem this was upgraded... More

Had an overnight stay at this hotel while visiting my daughter in the West End of Glasgow so good location for me. Concierge was welcoming and helpful. My room was in the basement but was bright enough. The corridor did smell of damp and I felt sheets, towels etc could have been cleaner. Comfortable enough but lacks the amenities of... More

With regard to your comments regarding the bed linen and towels, our laundry is done by one of the most established companies in the business, we have no problem with the cleanliness of the linen etc, if you had felt that it was not up to standard you would have been more than welcome to speak to the Duty Manager... We stayed for one night towards the end of the Commonwealth Games and was thoroughly surprised at actually being able to get a room the week before our stay. The price of the room was £119 for the night, however this was a triple room and we had booked late, the location however was fanastic as we needed to be... More

We stayed for 2 nights towards the end of the Commonwealth Games. We had Room 16 which was downstairs at the front of the hotel. It slept 3 adults comfortably. As the Commonwealth Bowls was being held right by the hotel the road outside the hotel was closed except for very occasional Games vehicles so traffic noise was not an... More

Stayed for 3 nights during the Commonwealth Games and felt hotel was good value in comparison to others. Room size was adequate and quiet as at rear of building our friends were not so lucky as their room was at the front and there was a lot of street noise. My only criticism is that the hotel was not as... More

Thank you for your kind comments, however we are puzzled regarding the comments about your friends toom being at the front of the hotel and the street noise, the road outside the hotel was actually closed for the duration of the Games, the only traffic allowed was Games traffic and there was very little of that. We are in the... More
