My friend and I were on a trip around Scotland and England, and decided to spend 1 night in Glasgow in this hotel. The location was perfect for us, and it being haunted was another selling point. The location was right by the beautiful Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis, with an easy walk into the city center. The staff was... More

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, lovely food, staff were really pleasant, friendly and helpful. Wonderful views of Glasgow Cathedral, St Mungos Museum, The Necropolis and the oldest house in Glasgow. Very easy, 15 minutes walk to Central Station and George Square, the hotel is close to Strathclyde University, Merchants City Eateries and all those lovely shops. We... More

We were to stay two nights have breakfast both mornings and an evening meal on 1st night. When we arrived and checked in we were told kitchen closed at 6 which was fine with us as our show started at 7.30. We went upto room (top floor tiny attic room) stair carpet was coming away at bottom steps, she said... More

Im the type of person who wants somewhere comfortable and clean at a reasonable price and dont expect anything grand for what I pay.I paid £90 for a one night stay, the whole place needs a deep clean especially the bedrooms. But the rooms are in that poor repair with furniture that must have been purchased from the local jumble... More

What do some of your reviewers expect? My wife and I also stayed here on an amazon local steak dinner deal. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and the house wine was lovely. The staff were very pleasant and helpful although a bit flustered by some of the other customers. We shared a drink in the yard with the... More

My wife and I had purchased an Amazon Local deal for a Steak Dinner and a bottle of wine for 2. On arrival at the small and quite run-down looking bar/dining area, we were greeted by a member of staff asking us to "sit anywhere," not the most welcoming of starts. As my wife and I made our way to... More

Outwardly the building is attractive but inside is extremely average and in some areas quite run down. We went here on a Groupon deal which included a fish and chip supper with a bottle of wine on the first night (of two). When we came to have the meal, a young member of staff (who could hardly look either of... More

My wife and I went here on an Amazon Local voucher for a steak dinner and a bottle of wine, but what a disappointment! We went in through the bar and saw the sign for the restaurant above another door. We made our way up two flights of stairs to be met with a hand-written sheet of paper informing us... More

There is nothing to commend this place. Had an Amazon steak dinner voucher and also took our kids. Steaks awful, fish and chips rotten and steak pie passable but not worth £11. Go elsewhere that cares.

The architecture and history of the building are certainly intriguing, and the hotel is perfectly located near the cathedral. But the rooms had seen better days, there was no a/c and the hotel staff also staffed the bar, which made service a little strained. Breakfast was good though, basically cooked to order, and the room was spacious and clean.
