Great location but worst hotel service I have ever come across. Horrible staff attitude - unwelcoming & unhelpful. Tense atmosphere. You will not get help if you needed it. Offers competitive prices but I personally would not stay there again even at no charge. When I desperately needed help, the staff ignored me on purpose. I felt so humiliated by... More

on arrival the receptionist declaired it was her 2nd day, was very rude, the room was filthy, every surface had a lair of dirt, the light fittings were broken and the wiring was showing on the walls, the carpet was badly stained, the shets looked like someone had wiped their bum on one of the beds, the other had dried... Four of us stayed here at the Lomond Hotel in the 'West End' of Glasgow for three nights. We used it as a base for one day around Glasgow, one day on a Rabbies coach tour of the Highlands, and one day in Edinburgh. I had made several previous trips to Glasgow and quite love this city! I usually stay... More

Don't be put off by the poor reviews on here. I recently stayed in a triple room for 1 night for £45. The room was fairly clean, sheets were clean and the en-suite was also clean. It's not perfect, one draw was broken and we couldn't get the tv to work but for £15 each you really can't complain.

I booked a twin room for one night from this hotel through a 3rd party website. I received an email from the hotel saying my card was declined and that I would need to provide new details to keep my booking. I immediately forwarded new details to them over the phone, and was informed that the new details were fine... More

Yes, it's depressingly neglected (Absentee Landlord Syndrome, I guess, plus alienated staff). And PLEASE don't go there if you've got dust allergies. But it's handy, very very cheap, and quiet. And it's a treat to be in such an essentially beautiful old building. If I had to choose between a sanitary-but-anodyne-and-standardised-hotel, and this place, I'd choose this. You might like... The hotel is in an excellent location with direct access to Great Western Road and to Byres Road. It is as within easy walking distance of Hillhead subway. The fabric of the building requires attention and the bedrooms need repair and decoration. This would all be acceptable given the relatively bargain price, but the welcome and staff skills and attitudes... More

My friend and I travelled from dundee to see olly murs, we just needed somewhere to stay for one night and this place wasn't even good enough for that!! When we arrived the door was locked and we stood in the rain for ten mins until some awful woman answered. She demanded more money when standing in the hall when... More

We arrived at a locked door and wait to wait 5minutes to be let in. Once entering the (filthy) hallway the woman looked myself and boyfriend up and down and said "is it a twin or double room?" After saying it was a twin (no doubles left) she deliberated, but agreed to let us stay. I have never felt so... More
