This centrally-located restaurant has a downstairs section with live music and an upstairs part which is light and airy. The service is fantastic, the food is Scottish - and delicious - and there's a non-noisy atmosphere in which to enjoy both. I can't wait to go again!

My husband, son and I stayed here in September. The rooms were simple and clean, and the staff very friendly. We had lunch in their pub and heard local musicians playing together on a Wednesday evening. Later we watched European football with the staff and other patrons in the pub. Be aware that shampoo and soap are not provided, but... More

What a wonderful place to use as a home base to visit Glasgow. Fraser and Margaret are onsite owners who care about their people. The patrons are friendly and authentic Glaswegians who appreciate the authentic music of Scotland and a great pub. The upstairs restaurant was amazing. What American ever had ox cheeks? but...trust me this was amazing....as were the... More

We have frequented Babbity Bowster as a pub for a number of years. It's a well known Glasgow pub/restaurant in the Merchant City in Glasgow. It's probably best known for the folk music sessions which spontaneously erupt late on Saturday afternoon and last into the evening. These aren't planned concerts, but just a number of amateur musicians who get together... More

Very friendly place to stay - also very patient when we came back after a few drinks at a family christening! The rooms are clean and had a lot of hanging space. A shelf would have been handy rather than one really high or using the bottom of the wardrobe. I hate myself saying this but the rooms really do... More

This could be what some other reviewers claim but it needs a wee kick up the bum. It needs some love lavished on it and the rooms are primitive. It felt so run down. The staff were helpful but didnt feel like an establishment that the owners spent much time at.

Referred by a friend to stay here and it was just the coolest concept. Awesome location, cool pub and then rooms for rent upstairs. Stayed with a friend one night while doing a UK roadtrip, this was a special place to stay! Tried haggis for the first time and it was delicious. Then sat behind this large choir group that... More

I have visited Babbity Bowster on numerous occasions. It is a great place to have a Scottish Style meal and enjoy a wee drink in a nice atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable for a premises situated within the City Centre. If you never been I would recommend that you give it a visit and see what I mean.

My husband wanted at least one of our UK vacation b&b's to be above a pub, so I found Babbity Bowster on tripadvisor and it was perfect! The pub was exactly what we were looking for to experience what felt like authentic Scotland... including the musicians that would randomly show up and play together (similar to an episode I saw... 6 of us shared a few wee drams and beers here;( this was an unplanned stop on my brother's 60th birthday celebration thru Scotland); had no idea it was an hotel until we returned to the states and look up TripAdvisor. Got the name from a pub lady in Edinburgh when we were watching the soccer match over beers and... More
