Great pub for a beer in the merchant city. I was there on Friday, no loud music just chat, good beer and a friendly crowd. Attentive staff, great service and a beer garden to boot. Get there early to get some space inside or a seat in the beer garden.

A short walk from public transportation, the Babbity Bowster is a great place! We arrived on a busy Saturday afternoon to a very crowded bar with a group of Scottish folk musicians in full swing. We were immediately greeted and shown to our room, where after dropping our baggage we returned to the bar for a much needed ale. The... More

We stayed here for 2 nights while in Glasgow and were in a prime location. This is in a very old area of the city and is in walking distance to most of the best attractions. We toured the city with some family that live in Glasgow and we were able to walk everywhere. The food is really good and... More

We only dined here on a friends's recommendation. The staff were extremely welcoming and the service was very good. Good choice of drinks available .The food however wasn't quite what we expected. This was a bit of a let down. A crowd of musicians arrived during the time we were there and whilst this could have been entertaining we felt... More

Four of us each chose different main courses and each of us thought they were totally delicious. The deserts also were scrumptious. The red wine we chose was too cold to serve so we were offered a round of drinks on the house while we waited for it to warm up. How's that for service!

Went to Glasgow with a friend in December and came across this gem of a place. I chose this hotel because it's small & independent and it looked rustic and homely. Got really good service, the food is really good, and we got a free night because we did a really small favour for the hotel. Would definitely go back.

This centrally-located restaurant has a downstairs section with live music and an upstairs part which is light and airy. The service is fantastic, the food is Scottish - and delicious - and there's a non-noisy atmosphere in which to enjoy both. I can't wait to go again!

My husband, son and I stayed here in September. The rooms were simple and clean, and the staff very friendly. We had lunch in their pub and heard local musicians playing together on a Wednesday evening. Later we watched European football with the staff and other patrons in the pub. Be aware that shampoo and soap are not provided, but... More

What a wonderful place to use as a home base to visit Glasgow. Fraser and Margaret are onsite owners who care about their people. The patrons are friendly and authentic Glaswegians who appreciate the authentic music of Scotland and a great pub. The upstairs restaurant was amazing. What American ever had ox cheeks? but...trust me this was amazing....as were the... More

We have frequented Babbity Bowster as a pub for a number of years. It's a well known Glasgow pub/restaurant in the Merchant City in Glasgow. It's probably best known for the folk music sessions which spontaneously erupt late on Saturday afternoon and last into the evening. These aren't planned concerts, but just a number of amateur musicians who get together... More
