Good experience, friendly staff - nothing fancy - good location , walking distance to the Cathedral and Necropolis - Glasgow at its most friendly! Plus near High Street Train station, and easy to get to the famous Barrowlands!

Have just got back from a one night stay at Babbity Bowster. The room was perfect for what we wanted, which was somewhere to put our heads down after attending a friends party in Glasgow. The added advantage is you can nip downstairs and have a really nice pint in the bar.

I hadn't stayed in Babbity's since before the summer, but recently ended up renewing acquaintances on a dreich and damp Glasgow weekend. It's still as homely as ever with the usual brisk trade in the bar. Dined on JC's excellent beef pie, and had a few pints of well-conditioned cask ale to wash it down. Management, staff and regulars are... More

Cannot fault the place, very clean, nice environment, good range of beers. We visited 3pm on a Friday afternoon when it was very quiet and just had the one. I imagine if we stayed longer, visited later or ate, then the score may have been higher

Went for a drink with friends. The first shock was the price of a glass of Proseco at £7.50. The place has no atmosphere the lights are extremely bright and there is no music. The bar staff were rude and unhelpful. An over priced pretentious bar.

I love staying here, because the hotel has a great little bar with lots of ambience and I like all the staff. However, the rooms are basic and there's quite a few stairs to climb (although you will be offered help with your bags). For instance there's no full length mirrors in the room and only a mirror in the... More

We stayed here two nights in twin room. It was basic (as their website clearly notes) but very clean and quiet. We had an early dinner there one night and it was very good (I can recommend the Cullen Skink). Price was important to us given the current weak Cdn $, but we felt that overall the location, cleanliness and... More

Bedrooms are fairly basic, but clean and functional. Breakfast and lunch are unfussy, and to good pub grub standard. Saturday afternoon influx of friendly musicians, playing a range of instruments, shapes an highly convivial afternoon. Outdoor courtyard a bonus, if not raining!

Recorded in the current Good Pub Guide, this was a delightful pub to drop into. Its a clean, bright pub with a very good feeling about it, helped by an excellent bar lady who was very helpful and chatty. The unit served a good selection of ale and food. We stayed for some food and really enjoyed it. Worth going... More

This small, well- established hotel and bar is right in the centre of the Merchant City and well-positioned for restaurants if you choose not to eat there. The single room was sparse but very clean and good value for money with a comfortable bed.
