I really like this place - I read a few reviews on here that said it was "tired". I disagree. Its beautiful and historical, arty(as the name suggests) and has real character - rare in this day and age...... The lift is something to behold with wood and gates - its like being in an episode of Sherlock ! Massive... More

The Arthouse is a converted old-style police station, or so the story goes. We were in a room with a very high ceiling. So although our "comfortable" (entry level) room didn't have that much area, the high ceiling gave it the feeling of real space. The elevator is old-world magic. You have to remember to close the gate or it... More

This hotel is absolutely not a 4 star. The reception area and restaurant are very nice, as are the staff, however our room was dated and in desperate need of a refurb - not unclean, however peeling paint, badly fitted carpets and an old, tired bathroom that I wouldn't want to spend any time in. The communal carpets are dirty,... More

Noisey location / but it is city centre. (Great pubs, restaurants, etc nearby)........ The staff were a mix of caring and .... And not so... Ask for a room on the highest level. Glasgow is a great city, but the hotel needs to try a little harder.

Stayed here on business, arrived later in the evening - the reception staff were friendly and welcoming. In terms of decor the downstairs and landings were really quite impressive and the lift quirky and old school, (although a little annoying when people forgot to close the inner gate) I have to say that the rooms themselves were ok just felt... the lobby might be a 4 star but not the rooms, this is a 3 star hotel. in need of updating, holes in the curtains, stains on the carpets, (room 301) and not clean, hairs in the bathroom etc. I was in a room for £80 and was put with a room with a facing wall and cooling system which... More

We stayed in this hotel as part of a commonwealth games package. 4 adults and 2 kids. Staff could not do enough to help us. They were friendly, helpful and had some great local knowledge which helped with our trip. The hotel was in an ideal location, reasonably priced and convenient parking for a city centre. Hotel had a unique... More

We stayed for two nights for the Commonwealth Games, having booked a games package and been allocated The Art House. Positives: Great staff - all very friendly and helpful, ideally situated in the city centre and thus able to access games venues easily, as well as shops etc, great breakfast, lovely building. Negatives: slightly dated rooms, one, or two basic... More

My husband and I stayed here on the 24th July 2014, we were having a night out in Glasgow to celebrate our wedding anniversary so booked a superior double- all I can say is I would hate to see their most basic room if that was supposed to be a superior one! We stayed in rm 315 which was cramped,... More
