I was very pleasantly surprised with this little gem in the heart of Glasgow. On arrival, we were very warmly greeted and received 4 free welcome drink vouchers for Waxy's, the huge bar next door. It's just off Buchanan Street, so it's ideal for shopping. Our room was on the 3rd floor and it was very spacious, tastefully furnished with... more

Fantastic value for money Great central location which I've stayed at several times before, usually for business but this time was a social occasion. Huge double room, very much appreciated complimentary mini bar & decanters of sherry & gin. Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast which was inclusive (£100/room/night) more

I booked this hotel as a place for my new wife and I to stay before we headed off on our honeymoon. I got a great rate for an executive room on-line, and was thoroughly looking forward to the stay. We got there very late on Saturday night, and duly checked into our room on the second floor. Although it... more

Smashing little hotel in Glasgow city centre. Located just off Buchanan Street at the bottom of the hill. Walking distance to the train station [Queens and Central], Buchanan Bus Station, Cineworld and theatreland and all its nice restaurants. V. friendly and professional staff. Spotless rooms. I booked a superior room which included complimentary mini bar and decanters of whiskey, sherry... more

Stayed here for the second time in Feb 2008 for 2 nights. Our first visit was in Oct 2007 and I was very impressed with the hotel - and was not disappointed this time. It was great, after an horrendous 7 hour train journey, to only have to walk 50 meters from Queen St station to reach the hotel. We... more

Our rooms 206 and 306 so called "executive rooms" booked through Hotelopia via Easyjet were small, dark and very warm (see photos from Room 206) . The air-conditioning was on, but seemed to be ineffectual as it was pumping warm air around, even on full blast. The alternative, opening the window, was no better as the noise from the air-conditionng... more

I booked the Carlton George for a weekend visit to Glasgow. I visit Glasgow five or six times a year and normally stay in the Hilton or the Radisson. As I had friends coming to Glasgow for the first time I decided to book the Carlton George as I thought it might be a little more unique than a chain... more

Stayed here for the second time in August for a weekend with my partner. We booked an executive room for access to the lounge. The location is fantastic for eating out, shopping etc with all the best shops within walking distance. Great value for money with the free mini bar etc. The breakfast was very good (even includes haggis). The... more

The Carlton George is in a very central location just off George Square and right next to Queen Street railway station and Buchanan Street underground station. We had a Club room on the second floor for 9 nights. There were 2 lifts which were very efficient. The room was at the front of the building and it was sometimes noisy... more

We really enjoyed this hotel during our first visit to Glasgow. It was very well located and was a good base for exploring the city. We stayed in a Club Room which was a good size and also gave us access to the pleasant club lounge where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and free internet access via dedicated terminals. The free... more
