Feb 25, 2010 | Trip type: Family

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is clean with nice tartan decor. We had a spacious family room with a good modern bathroom. Considering we were at the front, it wasn't too noisy and we slept well. We were able to park on site, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. The... more

Stayed there at the end of January 2010. No hotel parking. OK, we'd read this in the booking literature. Parked at the side of the hotel: Gray Street. Asked the receptionist who was on at the time if it was OK to park there (mon-fri restrictions 6am-8pm, no res's sat sun), he said: yes, of course that's where most of... more

Jan 31, 2010 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Stayed for the weekend fwith friends and had a fabulous time. We got a great deal, three nights for the price of 2 so worked out at £26.60 per room per night! That included a great breakfast in the morning. Staff were incredibly helpful, the hotel has a really cosy feel to it - room we had was lovely, a... more

Attractive hotel; great location making it esay to see many sights on foot. Parking a real bonus. The room was fine, well furnished; good, clean bathroom. Not many toiletries or added extras- not luxurious but OK for a well priced city break. Breakfast good, friendly staff. Reception staff sometimes miserable and lacking in the skills of dealing with guests. more

We stayed overnight at this hotel and were disappointed to say the least. Compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our vacation, this was bad. We were told while booking that parking was available but when we arrived we were told the lot was full. The only option given was to leave the rental on the street where... more

Stayed here for 4 nights at a conference nearby. Great breakfast buffets, comfortable seemingly recently redecorated room, great location for city centre/Glasgow Uni and nice bars/restaurants on Argyle Street, very quiet at night. Only slight complaint is that because room was at the top of the hotel and was a bit of a sun trap it could be stifilingly warm... more

A well-located hybrid hotel (cross between a full-on hotel and a BnB) not too far from the center--just 15 - 20 minute walk away. The Argyll met my needs comfortably for my one-night stay. A quiet room, a genial staff and a very generous breakfast buffet. My main criticism is that my room had a faint musty smell and the... more
